NWN ending question (SPOILER)

Post by Dink Martindale »

After fighting the 4 chosen ones and the chosen cleric, is there anywhere to rest up before facing Morag and her crew in the the last room? My mage is pretty worked over by this point and I can't seem to find a place to restore my spells and familiar since the Recall Stone wont work.

Nope. Many people thought that spoiled it somewhat.

Basically, my tips are:

1. Get a tank henchman (Grimgnaw or Daeleen), both are great fighters and both have good constitution. If you're a spell-caster, nothing better in this situation.

2. Stock on buff potions and scrolls. Use the scrolls either before or after you run out of your own spells - its the only way in this area, because you cannot rest. Obviously stuff like barkskin is also going to help protect you, and lots of potions to drink for healing etc.

Yea mages have it rough with morag and the final battle, hire Delan and have him handle the chosen so you dont have to waste your spells and you can use them when their most needed, which is to kill morag.

One more question....

Thanks folks, one more thing: If I do make it through to the end of the vanilla NWN, I'm able to save the character, is that it? But I also understand that this saved character isn't usable in either of the expansions?

You can save your character at ANY stage in the game. In the options menu, along the top there are 3 options - "Load", "Save" and "Save Character".

Your character IS playable through the expansions, you can select him like any other premade character. HOWEVER, you will find both of them extremely easy on the whole because your character will be far too powerful.

It's not that you can't do it really, it's just that Shadows of Undrentide is designed around a new character, not carrying on with your original NWN character and story at all. There aren't any references really in SoU to the original OC.

Hordes of the Underdark, however, was designed as a "direct" sequel if you like to SoU. There are several links to this throughout that campaign, so saving your character at the end of SoU and playing through HotU is probably the best way!

Well you can import your character, its just you'll be FAR FAR too powerful, and might go over level 20 (which is the cap on SoU as well). So while usual encounters (orcs, zombies, etc) will be at a normal level, the set characters will be really easy, because they are designed so you can beat them at lower levels. So its best to start at level 1 :) .
