dolls for putting armor on...

where can I find these in the editor?
do I need special coding?

and how do they work anyway?

Dolls? I don't think there are any in the game. You can get mannequin mods, though. I got the TarMar mod and it came with more mannequins than I can use. And I'm making one for every type of good armor.

Yeah, mannequins are from mods..or you can learn to make it yourself (I know I can't).

When I used to play there were quite a few life-size mannequins..and they got REALLY laggy when you had a bunch in a room for your armor sets.

There was a guy that was playing around with action-figure/doll sized mannequins to put on shelves..but it wasn't working when I left the game.
