City of Heroes

Post by Nippy »

Buck has added a forum for the game and I wondered how many gamers total we have playing the game, and if you don't play it, why not?! :p City of Heroes is a game that I've played for ~6 months now, and I must admit its one of the best games I've played for the simple fact that its genuine good fun. Teamed up or solo you can have a good game session and I would heartily recommend trying it to anyone who hasn't played it.

Its only out in the States and Canada at the moment, but a European release is planned I believe - so keep an eye out, but DVD Box Office do free international delivery. If anyone in the UK wants it sooner I have a spare copy that I can sell on cheap. :)

Anyways, if you have questions or you play the game already, head to the forum and join us in the battle to save Paragon City...

From what I've read about it - it is not my type of game. It didn't "capture" me.
As simple as that.

Xandax - fair enough. :) Not every game is for every gamer.

@ Mccool01 yep, 'tis a MMORPG for the PC. However, don't count your PC out yet, the game has a lot of graphics customisation you may want to check the specs on their website. :)

I've always thought city of heros would make a great, fun game. It's got all the basics of a game and brings back comic book culture. You get to design your own hero and abilities and have fun just kicking bad guy butt. Like you said, "It's genuine good fun" and has some nice mmorph interactivity. In fact I would almost get it, except that if I'm going to pay for an online game well then I'll probably get World of Warcraft when it comes out. But City of Heros is a very close second. So I'm bummed that I won't get to really play it.
I kill two dwarves in the morning, I kill two dwarves at night. I kill two dwarves in the afternoon, and then I feel alright. I kill two dwarves in time of peace and two in time of war. I kill two dwarves before I kill two dwarves, and then I kill two more.
I may be bad, but I feel good.

@Nippy; Is it as time-consuming/demanding as some of the other MMORPGs (Galaxies in mind)? I would love to get CoH, but I'm not sure if I will be able to fit 1-2 hours daily into my already tight schedual (sp?)... thanks.

(perhaps I should do a screen capture for my first post... :) )

@ Winter, CoH can be like that if you let it - sometimes people complain of the grind but they play 3,4,5 hours a day which isn't good - any game would get like a grind after 2 or 3 months.

Some good players I know of a good level play for only 1/1/2 hours a day and do fine level wise, they just play smarter. :D

If you want to discuss it further PM or mail me or chat in the forum.

Yeah - maybe some of this discussion should be taken to the CoH forum ;)

It was more or less an advert for the forum and the game. :D :p You can if you want to mate. :)

Well im curious. Nippy I know there are TONS of options when making your super hero. So what exactly did you decide?

edit-maybe this is spamish

To stop the spam in SYM (God Forbid! :D ) I'll create a thread in the forum and describe my character. See you over there! :)
