Bard/skjald

I am planning to make a bard/skjald for my group. Which race would be a good choice?

I have heard they need high charisma. Would it be a good idea to spend points on other abilities and just give him the ring of influence later?

His race is not that important. I believe only 2 races or so can be a bard.
And you cant give him charisma lower than 15/16 i believe.

I playing as the Blade.
Minimum charisma must be 15 ,U will get ring of infulence in circus( as U know) so U will have it at start of the game.
U may use Friends spell.Yes yes yes, all points to other abilities (dex,int).
Human or 1/2Elf?
1/2 Elf is better.
Skald is great backup!

The bard's charisma must be at least 15, but you don't need to spend any points on that. The 15 points are assigned automaticaly without any loss to the other abilities.
