stuck in kel-garas' tomb
SoU has been very entertaining and challenging, but now it's getting too difficult for me. i've always been into pure fighters, so here i am in kel-garas' tomb getting paralyzed and watching helplessly my hp going to zero. i just can't get past the room where there are four statues and apparently it is kel-garas himself who appears into the other side of the room and then disappears. after that, death. i'm a level 8 fighter and i've had lorna as henchman from the beginning. any tips on how to overcome the situation? i'm getting desperate! wouldn't really want to start again from the beginning of the game/chapter(interlude). well, any thoughts on this one? i appreciate any help you could give me. thank you!

okay, i got past the room by drinking a potion of clarity before entering. after that i ran through the corridor with fireballs with my henchman waiting. the next room where kel-garas doesn't go away but attacks, is HARD! he is too much of a fear factor to my character, just running away frightened. what to do, what to do? hmm...i guess i'll try to think it over again tomorrow or maybe i'll come here and have a look if someone has written any replies on this thread. feeling sleepy...zZZzZzZzZzz...

Hmm. Fear comes under will saving throwes I believe, so get any items that boost will or have immunity/protection against fear. I never had a problem with those versions of Kel Garas (or Kel Garas himself at the end of the tomb) with my fighter/CoT.
Look at the manual to see what each classes strong/weak saves are, you may want to consider multiclassing to make your character better all-round.
Once you have run past the flames, they should turn off so that your henchman can follow you. I would used ranged weapons against Kel Garas here, he is slow moving, and the others are only weak skeletons, who should do practically zero damage even if they manage to hit you. Other than that only potions of Clarity can save you!

Ahh there are much harder fights I must warn you. In fact, I would say there are some just plain downright infuriating fights (I imagine it depends on your class and such like) in SoU. In fact, I gave up towards the end of Chapter 2 (final chapter), although I will go back and do it after HotU!
