spoiler

if your talking about after he turns into the demon, (in my game, thoe others say he didn't for them... idk why it would be different) i learned that he stayed on the edges and casts flame strike on himself (he is 100% immune to fire). so use the senter for healing and have MUCH fire protection and just pound on him... oh, kill the other things first. if he doesn't stay on the edges (like some people said) then USE MUCH HEALING AND RUN would be my guess

that's false info about the fact he stays on the sides, He attacked me while i was in the middle. I found that Prayer and Recitation make good spells to help you hit him since he has like -12 armor class. So concentrate Mainly on hand to hand attacks.

well, like i said

i know that for me he stayed on the edges because i actually sent my druid at 100% fire resistance to fight him. she walked around the map while my bard played that regeneration bard song so the arrows of dispell (doing 1-3 pts of damage) wouldn't eventually kill the druid. i sat there for 45 minutes watching this and never once did the demon come to the center so...

You're talking about the very last battle in Crytal Tower, right?

I'm not over with it yet, but this is what I'm trying:
I send my fighter right in the middle and cast Otiluke's Resilient Sphere on him. Excellent spell :) This way Poq and his summons will attack him instead of my mage and cleric who are standing a bit further back. Now that Poq and his minions are hitting my fighter in vain, my mage can cast Malison, Death Fog, Cloudkill, and many Fireballs on them. This will wipe off the rest of the summons and hurt Poq slightly, while my warrior is still uninjured

The problem is that after a while I run out of area effects, and my cleric's spells are not that effective. I had him cast Insect Plague, that damages the rest a bit every round, but will not prevent Poq from spellcasting... :( I also need a spell that removes Poq's defenses (I suppose he's protected by many spells that prevent us from harming him  ), but I don't have anything like Breach or Pierce in BG... Any idea?

He is, but the undead are not :D I use them to get rid of the boneguards.

Don't really know how I could break his spell protections, that's my main problem, too (I don't even have Pierce magic, and I don't think I'd find a good merchant around  )

Oh, I'm so stupid, I messed it up. In Crystal Tower he's not summoning anything, there are only two Iron Golems. Sorry.

So, here is a solution to that:
--> I think it's better to finish off the golems first. Try getting out of Poq's fogs as quickly as possible. No point in peparing yourself with buffing and protecting spells, all will be removed immediately. I found that I have little use of magic in this battle, so I relied on my potions instead (their effects will dissolve, too, if stepping on a dispelling trap, but they're much easier to gulp than casting Heal or Protection from Fire again  ). Also, if you can spare your thief, it might be a way to have him detect and disarm the traps while the others are fighting and trying to remain at one position, but I had only three people so couldn't afford that. My rogue was a mage, too, so I had her cast Tenser's Transformation, so finally I had three warriors - got them all to hit Poq as hard as they could, and this is how I managed to defeat him. End of story. :) <--

What about heart of winter, don't you still have that. I heard the boss is a big dragon. Sounds pretty cool.
