problem with carth's sidequest, spoilers

OK so I got the sidequest for carth's son, I found him, and never found evidence revealing the sith. So after everything was said and done and I returned after my final test I ended up killing him. I later checked out the walkthrough and found out that the "evidence" is in the Master's room. I wasn't using someone with a high enough security skill at the time so I figured I'd just leave it alone. Now that I'm off korriban Carth still wants to find evidence to sway his som from the dark side. But he's dead. Is there anything that can fix this(xbox)? I guess I jsut won't try and talk to him for the rest of the game and I'll be ok.
