Problem at watcher´s keep lvl 3

Post by Zawisza Czarny »

Well, it all started with my greed, as usual. I met the "friendly" cambion Aesgareth in Watcher´s keep on level three with his merry team. I decided to acquire the items he wanted to play for and so he used the Deck of Many Things and I happened to draw the cards "Strength" (once of twice, I don´t remember). I won both the first times, but I then saw that my main characters strength fell drastically from 19 to 6. Of course this was a bit irritating to begin with, but after a while I understood this effect didn´t want to wear off (after trying to sleep it away (the rest took 9 days and 8 hours :D ), by using all kinds of magick dispel, restoration and so on (haven´t tried remove curse yet, but I doubt it will work)) and got slightly mad. To get to the core of this problem I tried some of the cards in the deck. I drew some other Stats-affecting cards, but i saw that their effects wore off quiet fast (Of course except the red 6 at Strength :( ). Perfaps some of you could give me advice ( thanks to those who want to tell me to go back to an earlier save, but it´s impossible since I only have Autosave and quicksave, both bringing me to a point after the "curse" befell me character), something I would be deeply grateful for since -13 to strength makes my paladin completely useless.

Try a Greater Restoration or Remove Curse, from Sister Garlena at the top.

Well, it does work. I suggest you try it.
Vicsun, I certainly agree with your assertion that you are an unpleasant person. ~Chanak

A tip, always make saves.

I save everytime I do a screen, or kill someone substantial. Ofcourse you end up with around 200 saves, however, you never get problems like this. Also, it doesn't waste too many MB's so it should be fine for everyone (also, a good thing to do it label them, such as "Save 124 - Just defeated 2 key assasins" or something like that. So goodluck.

Also, if your still ****ed, download "Shadow Keeper" then go to effects or whatever its called, and remove this bug, or simply up your strength.

Have fun.

Well well...

Thanks for the help! It seems the remove curse solved the problem, after all... It just seems I think to complicated and instead of using the simplest spells available and think simple, I tend to exagerate the problem and use all those lvl 5-7 Cleric spells.
And as to making millions of saves... Ummm.... I would but i guess that jumping out of the "real" game for 10 seconds just to save the game each time something happens would have a large impact on the joy-factor of the game.
