dude, i don't know what to tell you
my brother ran straight throught the game.
he got to the end and then - AHHHH!!!!
he was forced to reload, but he still couldn't win
finally, he loaded to before the quest and decided to boost his char stats til almost everything was maxed.
i mean maxed, i watched for hours as all he did was lightning zombies for skill points.
he needed 84k for mastering physique.
he pulled the sword from the stone and went back to battle jack.
he won, but most of his skills were mastered
he used a lot of lightning, shield, and slow time (for melee attacks)

good luck!

Killing Jack

The first time I played the game, I ripped straight through the game and even dropped all active quests when I got presented the one to go after Jack. I've since gone back to that save and have been making my character fully evil. :) Here's how I killed Jack that should work for you.

I mostly had points spent in Strength with only a few Will power ups but the main Will power I used was that Force Rush or whatever its called. You are invulnerable while rushing and can rush through Jack's energy wave attacks while also launching an offensive strike on his minions. Just make sure you load up on Will potions before going to fight him and you should be fine.

If you kill all his minions, pull out your bow and plunk a few arrows into him while he's trying to summon new minions. If he launches his energy attack, just rush towards him and draw again.

Probably many other ways but this worked well for me.

For a reasonable chance at success, you need:
Slow Time 2 or better
A good bow
Physical shield 2 or better
A good (fast) meele weapon
Enflame 2 or better
Plenty of will and health potions (cue them up on your <- and -> buttons too)

I suggest:
Master Bow with health, mana and piercing augmentation OR the scrom bow
Master Greatsword with piercing, health and mana augmentation or the Solus Sword.

Use slow time and kill the minions using enflame and melee. Until you beat down the minions, you can't touch Jack. Once you can melee with him repeat slow time and make some attacks and back off if Jack gets too many hits in and heal up. Once you get jack to 1/2 he will fly up out of melee range. Melee is over now, whip out the bow. Duck behind the spikes. Charge up your bow and slide out and fire a shot off (multi arrow is great here but not essential) and duck back behind the spike before Jack can retaliate. This is the final boss battle is SUPPOSED to be hard. If you are patient, it really isn't. Just remember to sit through the insufferably long credits (don't skip them) or you can't continue playing.

Even Easier Way To Get Jack

Easier than hiding, ducking etc.

As you go in, he is behind the red field. Kill the first wave of Minions, V.Easy, then he comes from behind the force field and you can fight him.

Give him a few swipes with your weapon ( im assuming that you have a decent weapon with some augs etc ) and when he charges away, chase him using the BATTLE CHARGE magic.

When he finally rises above the ground in the force field, stand directly below him on the round pedestal bit and use your enflame magic. This gradually chips his health down and he maybe only hits you twice out of the 20+ times you hit him. Also, the other minioins cant get close because of the enflame.

Assasin Rush him

I had Harbringer and full plate. My tactic is pure and simple, first kill all those pesky demons (minions). After that run away and hit Jack with one or two arrows, and dodge his waves and energy balls. As soon as he is far away from that pedastal assasin rush him, and cut em' good. Keep assasin rushing him, I mean assasin rush is my 2nd favorite spell, physcal sheild is 1st and 3rd is slow time.

Last time I pummeled him it was waaaaaaay to easy.

Just before entering the chamber I used the Multi-Arrow spell, because it will last with you until you use it. Then turn on Physical Shield (maxed).

Then I pulled out Harbringer and entered. By this point my physical stats are maxed and so is speed. So I made very short work of the minions, kill the casters first so they don't shoot you in the back while your fighting the other.

Jack comes in for the hand to hand fight. Que Slow-Time. A few good swipes and Jack is reeling. Meanwhile he cant slow your assualt because Physical-Shield is stopping his blows. Just use will potions if you will drops to low.

The second Jack takes to the air. Pull out the Skrom Bow. Pull it back fully charged and let it fly. The multi-arrow spell will now come into play and Jack takes a horrible beating. 2 shots with the bow is all I needed and he was dead.

I swear the whole battle was over in less than 30 seconds.

its not that hard

i found that the best way of doing it (and ive done it twice now with ease), is to have 2 skills, multi strike, and multi arrow... ive done it without special weps and with pretty much those abilities. it also doesnt hurt to have berserk, anyways when fighting his minions just cast multi strike before you hit each one, with a half decent wep it takes 3 hits to kill. then when going against JoB cast it again, and if you have use berserk. once he is half dead he starts flying and casting things at you. take out your bow, stay locked on him (left trigger) and circle around him at a distance. when he casts a spell just roll to the side you will usually evade it. and with multi arrow cast start shooting, he'll come down in about 10 shots.

hope it helps...

oh also if you can afford a health augmentation (bowerstone north shop) worth 55k its a really life saver, no pun intended. i find the easiest money is the oakvale bar game, card pairs (like memory). just get really good at it using small bets, then when you get better use 1k bets and you can have 1k each play (takes about 35 sec) good money.

I died loads of times, but then went back to a previous save.

The easiest (and possibly the most boring) way to kill Jack is to obtain as much mana/health as possible, then smack him around a bit with your weapon, then when he rises, immediately start hitting him with lightning. This will take a long time and you'll have to swallow a couple of mana potions, but eventually he'll die. He can't do anything while you're bolting him...

You can get some other family members to walk through now and then to take over button-holding duties...

why use magic when you have the ever-useful bow? just get an obsidian bow(you can get one in a chest on the way to headsmans hill) and just put in some augs, then pounds away his life. about 15 shots, assuming you do a good 300dmg per shot and he wil be dead, and as for the life issue, just dodge his magic, its no that hard and gets you safely out of harms way

I don't mean to knock anyone, but I have no idea how you guys consider him hard, I mean... I just killed all the minions, and just beat the crap out of him with Harbinger until he hit 50% and went above the platform. I then just shot him with Master Longbow that had fire, lightning, Silver augmentations while running in a circle around him, and that was it. I think I only used 2 health potions even!

Now granted, I took my time during the game, and my character is totally maxed in all the Physical stuff, and on speed (virtually no magic).

Lack of really tough bosses

I killed lots and lots of bandits and hobbes for days on end until all my main stats were maxed out before I was even captured by Jack trying to rescue the mom.

By the time I got to Jack himself, I banged out a system that let me go through the Arena without having to chug a single health potion, but I did have to use a ton of will potions.

1. Slow Time lvl 3
2. Multi Strike lvl 4
3. Berserk lvl 3

Hit Slow Time right off, then Berserk, and keep using Multi Strike every chance you get. Normally, I used it for each new target I encountered. I was also using an Obsidean Great Sword with just a Silver Aug in it. Max Strength plus Multi Strike equals lots of on hit kills.

Move around alot with Slow Time. Try to hit minions from behind to deal extra damage.

Then use your bow. Lock on and move pulling back for full power on each arrow. Jack show be hit for nearly 400-500 each if you maxed out Accuracy.
Bows killed most all of the bosses in the game for me.

Good luck and keep at it!

I decided not to read the other posts, so I can tell you how I did it.

At that fight, I had my Skorm's Bow, and just my Master Greatsword, with Health Aug,and Mana Aug.(Both achieved in chests). I also had Physical Shield, Mult-Arrow, and Fireball( maxed out0. All my Strength stats maxed out.

I hacked at him with my Sword until the red barrier. Then the rocks come from the ground.

I just turned on the Shield, and payed no attention to the Minions, I could run faster then them, everytime Jack used the Energy attack I was behind one of the rocks, but at the far back wall. Now I used the Fireball/Arrow trick. Make Fireball the same button as you arrows,(X). Charge up a fireball, let go of R Trigger, but not X, this will now pull back your bow, then I lock on to him and shoot, releasing the Fireball, and the arrow. The whole battle was only like 3 minutes. :D

I went ahead and beat Jack again to see the other ending, and this time, I only had to use one health potion.

Here's how I did it this time around -- Pretty much the same way I mentioned in my other post, except that when ever he shoots those big magic blasts at you, just do a forward roll under them. The only damage I ever took was a few hits from the minions, and one of those uber-life draining things that is unblockable (I think). And like someone else mentined, if you are a good archer, just do a circle around him scoring 400-500 point hits, and he'll go down in just a few hits really.

physical shield is almost a must in this battle. His attack that constantly hits you is bad ass even with maxed health. Slow time is another must because you can deliver a lot more hits before he gets to do anything. As for the rest, i went for mastered multi-strike and Hew sword...beat him as easy as a wasp...
