Black screen when entering Hidden Bek base

When I have been to the Black Vulkar base and snatched the swoop accelerator, and try to enter the Hidden Bek base to give it to that blind dude, the game hangs. The screen turns completely black, except for my mouse, which I can move around.

I've tried a ton of things, but nothing seems to work, anyone got any ideas? This is my second time through, the first time (8 months ago) everything worked fine.

My game is on PC, and I have tried with 4.2 and 4.9 drivers for my ati 9700pro card, tried patch 1.00, 1.02, and 1.03. Tried loading a savegame from one hour earlier. Same result everytime.

Black screen...

Did you try saving before you enter, and when the game does that, close and relaunch the game and start from that spot again? I think I've seen someone say that that works in another situation, and it's possible it might there. Only advice I can give.
