Multiclassed party

Post by Klorox »

What would you make the protagonist in this party:

Aerie
Jaheira
Jan
Imoen (not multiclassed, but she is your "sister")
unknown (maybe nobody)

Thanks in advance. :)

You need a good front-liner. Make a dual-classed Kensai/Mage (DC at lvl 13), if you buff him up with lots of good defensive spells he should be able to hold off everything, and you will have a powerful magic-orientated party. Don't keep Jaheira in the back, but give her good equipment and make her your second warrior/spellcaster.

Yup, give Jaheira Sentinel +4 (best shield ive seen so far tbh) and a -2 full plate, ring of the gaxx etc etc, reduce her AC to -13/-14 :) she will rock :D Iron skins, whoopa

Or let her dual-wield Belm (offhand) and the Club of Detonation (main hand)

I rather give her the assurance of a good AC so she gets hit less often, knowing her HP isnt that high at all :) , but she can do mroe damage with dual wield ya, but as for this party it is more to take the melee damage, id prefer the AC type of equipment

Go with shield if she is your primary tank, however if not, then dual wield. :)

Hrrmm..

Once J-bird gets skins, she's all set for being the main heavy. Please yourself on 1h+shield or 2H/dual wield - I usually have her go staves or flails, actually, but that's because I hack her to Ranger/cleric, which really seems a better fit for her anyway.

You can make your main whatever you like, depending on what you like. Remember, with SK it's also easy to dual other characters - I've got Viconia being a ftr/cleric in one of my parties right now, kind of cool. Also consider getting the Solaufein (ftr/mage) mod for later.
I have given up all lesser evils as inadequate to my purpose.

Solaufein is worth the try really...

But when i use SK i always feel guilty, i feel like it is "not the way the game is ment to be played", but still, after finishing BG II 5 times, maybe its time for some changes ;)

[QUOTE=Klorox]What would you make the protagonist in this party:

Lets see...

- 3 Mages (Aerie, Jan, Imoen)
- 2 Thieves (Jan, Imoen)
- 2 Cleric/Druid (Jaheira, Aerie)
- 1 Tank (Jaheira)

Ok.. so you need a tank as a protagonist, that's for sure. You won't need extra thieving skills or mage spells, because you already have 2 thieves and 3 mages. You also have one druid and one cleric (Except that Jaheira won't be casting spells alot if she's your only frontliner).

So, yea, you really need a tank. It can be a fighter/mage, a fighter/druid, a fighter/cleric, a ranger/cleric, a fighter/mage/cleric, a fighter/mage/thief or even a fighter/thief. You could also want a support character like a Bard (Blade, Skald, Jester?) or a Paladin/Ranger. You could also try a monk if you haven't. Nice frontliner.

Well... you have alot of chocie.

P.S. You SK Imoen in a multiclassed char instead of a dualclassed one.
