Can you join 2 houses?

Is possible to join 2 differant houses (on the X-BOX game of the year eddition)?
I read that through a series of events you can end up joining 2 houses, but would like to know before I go though all of itbecause if it isnt true then I would not be part of the house I want to.

You can become hortator of all houses but its not joining all houses you can't do quests for them and they still hate you depending on what house you joined.

ive joined house redoran and hlaalu in one save file before but i think it was a glitch

If you kill the one guy at the Dren plantation and then talk to his brother, Duke Dren, in Ebonheart you will automatically become Grandmaster of House Hlaalu, even if you have already joined Telvanni or Redoran.

this was already in a thread but i talked to the person in balmora to join hlaalu and the redguard in ald ruhn to join redoran...
