There is a wrench in New Reno Arms shop. Go in through back door and never mind the barking dogs... Search the cabinets there and a wrench should be there! Also, after giving the Nixon Doll to the kid that want's it, stick around and listen (read) what the kid says... You will find a wrench REAL soon!
oh, yeah...

There once was a beast over seven hills and seven seas... One day the beast walks out and says "Shit man! Look where I live!"

*spoiler* wrench and kid problem
I've got 1.02 reload version of Fallout II with the 1.04 and 1.05 patches installed on my PC with Windows XP.
I'll try finding the wrench in the other places, but I have two problems in Vault City I still find annoying.
Spoiler Below:
I find the child, but as soon as I find the Nixon doll, the child vanishes. I freed Joshua first if that means anything (they mentioned moving out to a better place). I do happen to know anyway where the wrench is, but when I go there, after I click on it, it tells me "just a pile of rocks."

Not sure, but it coulb be that you must first return the doll, then free Joshua. Not sure though, as I haven't freed Joshua in my few last games...Lazigothi wrote: I find the child, but as soon as I find the Nixon doll, the child vanishes. And about clicking the wrench:
Are you sure you are actually clicling the wrench? Is it highlighted? It's rather common problem in the Fallout's interface that when you want to click object on the ground, you can't becuase it's situated in a place where there is something else as well, like in your case there is oile of rocks...
