O ok, thats cool.

Yeah, I understand what real D&D is, however I never played it. Although I did play things like Necromunda (a warhammer game) *gets kinda embarresed*. I'm guessing its kind of similar to that, with each person playing a character and trying to besiege a dungeon, with the evil DM trying to hold them off.

Yup it's like that (and it's nothing to be embarresed about). Though Warhammer is more combat orientated and d&d is more role playing orientated.

Hey, Warhammer is cool! Used to play that all the time. :)

@Rob-hin
Had a look through my old Second Ed Forgotten Realm stuff last night - Baldur's Gate draws a big fat blank for the most part. There is a few paragraphs on the city in the GMs Guide to the Realms - nothing major, just the major NPCs and some rough notes on the city itself. Nothing on the history though. If you want me to email it over, PM me.

GW are the guys who do Warhammer, yeah. They have a new edition out now, but it's all the minatures, which I wasn't into. Much prefer the RPG, which I don't think they are releasing a new version for (unfortunately).

Any game which lets my mages run around with a brace of flintlocks is uber-cool! :cool:

Never played Warhammer or D&D, I taught myself English and MERP+ Rolemaster rules at the same time back in '86 when I was 16 and had just left school. And yes, we do learn English in Danish schools, but we do not learn it at a significant enough level to understand Rolemaster, read on military history, flyfishing and Tolkien's Unfinished Tales, which I all wanted to back then, so I had better learn;-)

However, I thought I had some info on the history of Baldur's Gate in one of the Forgotten Relams sourcebooks I have aquired over time, but there was only info on the current situation there. It should be possible to track down on the net.

Best wishes; palle

If you want to read the whole story the dude tells you you could just use Inifinity Explorer or Near Infinity. You just have to fnd out which dialogue it is.
