Lock Level?

Post by Thomas77 »

What exactly does a lock level do? Obviously the higher the lock level, the harder the lock is to pick, but what is there to compare the level to? For example: A lock at lock level 35. Do I need to have a certain amount of points in my "Security" attributes before I am able to pick that lock?
Mitch:You know, um, something strange happened to me this morning... Chris Knight: Was it a dream where you see yourself standing in sort of sun-god robes on a pyramid with a thousand naked women screaming and throwing little pickles at you?Mitch: No... Chris Knight:Why am I the only one who has that dream?

It's a factor associated with your Security level, the level of the relevant attribute, and that of the pick you use. If you go the magic route, then it's a straight 1-on-1: the lock level vs. the level of the spell, which is known in advance.

You can also increase your attribute temporarily, affecting both the thief and mage ease with which you open a given lock.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

ive found that you needed to be at most 20 levels under the lock level, so youd need 15 minimum security level to pick a level 35 lock

@Sean. Youll also have a harder time picking that lock though. I usually try to train my security very quickly as its almost imperitive to have if you want really good items, Cauriss of Saviors Hide

And expensive.

But the rewards far outweighs the cost when you realize you can steal just about anything that is unguarded.

So my Security Level should, at the very most, be 20 points below the lock level, but preferably closer?

well, yeah.. as simple as that. If your not a thieves guild member, you'd be better off with a ring that opens 100-100 pts on touch, than trying to train your security the old fashion way, because it takes literally more time than fable has lived, and that's quite alot.. :p :D :D

Actually for the cheesy players you can cast lock on touch for 1 pt then unlock it, rinse repeat, it takes about 10-20 minutes to level up ten points... still a while though lol

EDIT: you can lock doors, barrrels, cloth sacks, sacks, cupboards, hutchs, closets, about any item with an invetory, i havent tried it on flowers yet lol.
*The uppermost room in Shenks shovel has a lot of things you can lock and unlock, *2 cupboards, 3 sacks, 2 barrels, 2 cloth sacks, a closet, a door, and a hutch if i remember correctly.
I used to hate going to weddings because the old people would always say,"You Next! You Next!" Now I go to funerals and tell them the same thing.

Kool, where can you buy a spell that locks? I have never seen one!
Looking for a MOD that don't need any Expanisons, and can run on Morrowind 1.20blahblah without any errors, that lets you play as a Huge(At least a little big) hairy monster! MSG me if you got one!
