Screwd up save files

Screwd up save files

im in a major problem, iv been playing BG2 and i was just at the end of the whole Firekraag quest just about to go to fight him, well since my pc sucks so much it froze or something like that and well, now everytime i try to reload that quick save it crashes the game, the earliest save i have befor my quick save is befor i started the entire quest(!) and if i cant do something about this quick save file ill have to start it all over again :(
so does anyone know any way to help me? PLEASE!

Didn't you enter any rooms, there? There should be a more recent autosave.

there arent any rooms in the Firekraag quest that auto save, the last auto save i have is from when i left athkatla to windspear hills

Maybe I'm confused, here, but I thought some of the closed, dark rooms on the first floor entailed separate loading, and separate screens.

If not, then I'm afraid you're out of luck. What your CPU, RAM, video card, and Windows type?

my computer isnt too old for the game its just that i had some problems with it the other day and it froze while playing, so i guess i realy do have to do it all over again :(
vampires, beholder and golems oh crap...... :P

Good reason to develop the habit of saving regularly: no offense meant. I typically save every 5-10 minutes. And I rotate 3-5 savegame slots.

if its the quick save you mean i do that alot too, like i said its my quick save file that got messed up so thats why im screwd, about the normal saving i just normaly do that whenever i exit the game

No, I don't mean quicksave. I mean just what I wrote: "And I rotate 3-5 savegame slots." That way, if a problem occurs in any saved game, I have another one on hand that dates back only 5-10 minutes.
