Any idea's as to what might be causing this and how I might be able to fix it?
Screen goes black, except for curser?
Screen goes black, except for curser?
I just started playing HoU and every few minits the screen goes black except for the curser. I can still move the curser around and it will change depending what it's over and I can still hear the sound and know the game has not locked up. I've not had this problem with any other game or program. I also did not have this problem with the original NWN's.
Any idea's as to what might be causing this and how I might be able to fix it?

I had that phenomenon a long time ago... in my case, the answer to it was rather ridiculous: namely that my installation of NWN rejects custom portraits. And it seems that quite many installations still do that even in their readily-patched state.
Sounds strange? Well yes it is - still, as soon as I had created a new character using a default portrait, things went perfectly fine. So... do you use a custom portrait? If so, try making a character with a default portrait and check if the blackouts still occur. Chances are good that fixes it.
If not... sorry, that's the only thing crossing my mind. Sometimes the game does the same thing while you are playing fan-built modules and you do something that totally screws up the quest tree (killing a vital npc for example), but that happened just once to me so far.
