Melee and Lightsaber stack?

Post by Magrus »

Anyone know if having Melee weapon proficiencies and Lightsaber proficiencies would make the melee bonuses stack with your Lightsaber bonus or not? It would make sense to me if they did but I'm not sure and unfortunately my game is loaned out to a friend at the moment so I cannot check for myself.
Thanks.

I'm quite sure they do.... just that the lightsaber proficiency bonuses don't stack with other melee weapons. Something like that anyway :p

NO. They do NOT stack. If you use your feat points on Melee Prof., once you become a Jedi, they've gone to waste. Lightsaber proficiency is independent of the Melee Prof. DON'T WASTE YOUR POINTS ON MELEE!

Thanks for the correction. I found a mod that fixes my problem, cuts out the first section of the game on the ship and starts you out on Taris as a Jedi, so I start out with the lightsaber and a class in whatever base class you started at creation and a second Jedi class right away. I was just curious if it would be worthwhile to add it in for a build that focused more on melee, but didn't involve the guardian class. It WOULD make sense to have them stack, but then it doesn't, so it really doesn't matter. Would have been helpful for an extra bones to hit for the Jedi classes that don't get specialization in Lightsaber, oh well.

The weapon specialization feats aren't so usefull anyway, you get +1 to attack with lightsaber focus and +2 damage with lightsaber specialization, big deal. There are, probably, better uses for your feats, like implants, conditioning, toughness or even a second attack feat (maxed out).

Sorry, didn't realise they didn't stack. It kind of makes sense either way, so I wasn't really sure :)
