HOU: Problem on Maker's Isle (Spoiler)

Post by Char Aznable »

I cant enter the maker's assistant room on level 2. None of my henchmen can disable the trap so they refuse to pick it's lock. Cant heck the door open, been through all the loot and cant find any key, Magic doesn't work, Knock doesn't work how the hell do I get in there.
About my game, it's patched. I've also killed Ashtaa or whatever his name was to release the other golems + given him the power rod or whatever its called

It's not all too important to get in there. The only thing of interest you can do in there is get a password that will spare you a fight with the two mithril golems on the lowest level of that dungeon. (in the makers sanctum)

If you're a ranger or druid you can talk the rat in front of the door into opening it for you... and if you are a rogue you can disarm/pick the door yourself - but all other classes are basically screwed.

Welll like I said, don't sweat it - no real need to get in there anyway. The Mithril golem fight gives some nice exp, too.

Maybe not your question as much - but the answer gives away spoiler information.

It is generally a good idea to mention spoiler if dealing with information about the gameplay like this. Both when asking for information or giving it away :)
And instead of editing the post that gives out information - it is easier for me to just edit the thread title.

Yeah, but it's a damn hard fight!! My 23rd Level Monk almost got pasted (and all the summons/henchies died). My 24th Level Dwarven Defender also nearly got pasted, but he did a little better due to much higher hps and Strength.

@Char Aznable
You need either 55 in Lock Pick (IIRC) or to be able to speak to the rat somehow.

Cheers!

If you are a druid you should be able to speak to the rat. I think that you might need animal empathy and ranger should peobably work too.

You don't need to use Animal Empathy on the rat, you can just talk with it. You'll be able to ask it to go and open the door for you (I can't completely remember, as my Ranger PC was a loooong time ago).

Cheers all,
