Problem with Mirror Image

Post by Klorox »

I'm having a problem with the way my character looks after casting "Mirror Image."

In older games, with ToB installed, the images went around my caster, and I liked that. Now, with only SoA installed, my game shows the caster, with the multiple images in a straight line.

Is it supposed to be like this?

I'm going to install ToB when I can get a new disc (it's not installed b/c it is damaged). Will this fix the problem?

The only things I've installed besides the actual game are:

1) Official SoA Patch
2) Baldurdash Fixpack
3) Bonus merchants (Diedre and the guy in the Copper Coronet)

Yeah, when you install ToB your mirror images will be arround you, not in a line.

Cool, thanks man. I can't wait until my ToB disc gets here!

I dont remember seeing a line formation anywhere but updating may help... And TOB too.

Aint a line mirror image avaiable only on BG1?

I had the same "problem" before ToB got out, so it's how it originally was in BG2 SoA.

heh, I didn't know it was a problem/bug. I thought it was just regular, and I thought one of the new mods I've installed changed it to be like IWD. Heh, I quite liked it in a line, easier to tell how many there are.

Yeah, I'm sorry, but the line was much cooler. I can see why the change occurred; the line is kind of intimidating, while the group formation actually makes it difficult to determine who is who. But still, maybe there should be a choice?
Right you are, Ken.

the main problem was that when dungeon crawling, the extras on the end of the line would vanish so you could fit into a corridor, making it difficult to see who was who.

A 6-high-level-mages-party, while Mirror Imaged, makes a huge pack of people :)

The grouping

BG1 and old SoA had them in a line. ToB changes them into a cluster - the difference is, of course, purely cosmetic. Spell-50 makes for a real crowd, though

An aside (sort of)

I'm sorry if this is off topic, Fable... But I thought I'd warn him...

I noticed you had Baldudash installed... I think it creates problems if you install ToB over it... You may want to do a fresh install of SoA before installing ToB...

there's a Baldurdash removal download, which I used, then installed ToB. On top of that, I patched the game and used the Baldurdash ToB mod.

It's all good :)
