just try HoF.. for me it sounds that you are using powergaming methods..

But.. let say that i dont remember what i have posted before in this thread so dont get pissed if i repeat my self..

Your party sounds familiar to my first party.. but still when i first time fought against them they owned me.. so was that your first try? or did you read walktrough? Well it doesnt matter..

with this party it has been most easiest to beat every thing in this game except twins.. 3 try..

But here it goes..

1# char..
Full barb..

2# char..
fighter 4/bard rest...

3# char..
Cleric of oghma..

4# char..
full sorcerer..

Mass heal, heal, shades, Giant vermin, delayed fireball did the trick..

How can you say no to this face? :D

But seriusly.. Party without Bard is not party...

I can understand that SYM forum.. mentally 6 year old people is just running around with scissors on their hand.

Heart of Fury mode. Essentially, it's DnD rules, but on super crack. Incredably difficult, even with a high level imported party

HoF stand for Heart of Fury, it is a in game mod that allows to repeat the game with same or new charactors. The difficulty level is higher and so is the Exp. and the treasure is better. Effectivly it allows you to reach like 27th level with a six crew party. Basic explanation on my part,
have fun

I´ve searched for an option saying "Heart on Fire" mode but i cant find it, is
it the gauge that i have to move to the highest level ? or is it some
expansion.

I noticed that the ability scores mentioned above are very extreme, in their highs and lows. I guess emphasizing the abilities most used by each class makes sense. In my game, however, all of my characters are very balanced. The only negative modifier on any of my characters is my dwarven fighter's -1 to Charisma. And to be honest, the game is, while challenging, still easy enough to not be frustrating. I find I have to rely very heavily upon tactics, however, as opposed to just letting everyone charge willy-nilly into combat like I did in Baldur's Gate.

Speaking of tactics, a general rule-of-thumb I personally use is to kill off weaker enemies first, and save the big strong ones for the end. While taking a smashing hit from the big guy is certainly devastating, focusing on him first means the enemy group has a vastly larger number of chances to hit you with weaker attacks. And those add up.

BG2 is based on AD&D rules which are quite easier than the more balanced 3.5 edition. But they overcompensed in the NWN series and made it very easy ( especially NWN2)
BG2 is essentially a cakewalk if you have two or three mages in your party. Starting at level 7 or 8 essentially makes you immune to the early Mage Weakness of BG1.
The main thing in BG2 is the abundant +2 and above weaponry and the HUGE list of overpowered spells like Breach,Pierce Magic, Spellstrike, Spell Trap etc. That makes it easy for you fight any high level enemy. Even Mages like Irenicus weren't much of a bother if you had adequate profections, and I'm playing at INSANE. To tell the truth, IWD2 was far more restricting. Less spells, tougher and more numerous critters ( except bosses) and enemies appearing at your back.
Dragons go down easy if you have Lower Resistance/Vampiric Touch-Magic Missile combo or Doom-Greater Malison/Finger of Death combo (most of them anyways)
Beholders are tough but easy when you have the Shield of Balduran or send in a critter like a Fire Elemental to do the dirty work. Mind Flayers are a piece of candy for the Ranged Party with Chaotic Commands.
On the other hand, the Guardian Chapotek and The Six Lost Followers were hell for me on normal and hard. On insane, i didnt reach them and my game was deleted due to some reason. Though, i had the best party powergaming composition in the insane mode, i had been able to reach till the Ice Castle Exterior.
The only thing which made IWD2 easy was Otulike's Resilient Sphere. It made the entire game easier with the exception of the Last and the Holy Avenger battles.

I would even say that Icewind Dale : Heart of Winter at Party Level 9 is tougher than any IE game thrown at the audience.
Especially those wailing virgins and Barrow wight combo. The biggest hair pulling ever. although i was younger and inexperienced when i played that game.
