Weapons/Armor requirements

Post by Borodin »

I am really confused as to weapons & armor.....I have found several nice weapons I would like to use....I have the strength and agility the weapon requires, and the basic skill, and yet I can't equip the weapon. Obviously I am missing something. Can anyone help????? (As an aside, I don't know why Larian bothered printing a manual - it's absolutely worthless)

What language was your manual in? The manual in English was pretty decent, though it left out a few very important areas (like enchants, and alchemy).

As for being unable to equip--I don't know the details of what you're referring to. Do you receive a message when you try to equip that weapon? Does the weapon require a certain level of a given skill, which perhaps you don't possess? Do you have the right character highlighted when attempting to equip that weapon?

Weapons skill

Ahhh.your statement "a certain level of a certain skill" may be the key to my problem. But how do you know, for instance, what level of slashing skill the DK needs to wield the "Death Claw".....there's is nothing in the game or manual that gives you a clue???? AM I missing something, or is it all just trial and error????

When you check out the stats on the weapon, does it have a number that might indicate a required skill level? And once again, are you sure you have the right character highlighted, when you try to wield a weapon? The interface is problematic in the game, to say the least.

The only info. given are the strength & agility requirements (which I exceed), and the damage done and stats. affected by the weapon. There is no indication of any particular level of expertise needed to wield it.....although that's the only explanation I can think of. ????

I don't think weapons and armor have skill requirements. You just have to have the right strength and agility.

Here are a couple possibilities:

1) The item you're replacing has an attribute bonus, and without that bonus you can't equip the new item.

2) The weapon you're trying to use is a 2-handed weapon, but you have a shield equipped.
