PsT Assertion Failure

Post by psychiatrik »

It is likely that this is an old issue, but I have found little info so please help.I am running the 2 disc version of planescape torment with the 248kb fix (v 1.36) and every 20 minutes or so i get an assertion failure message which indicates that there was a problem on D:\ and the game crashes. Any solutions? thanks.

Problem

248 kb is very small. If your in windows xp then you have no ram to work with. You need 32 mb minimum for most games but I don't know the one you mentioned.

I have 2 gb of main memory and 256 mb of video memory. I can run any PC based game.

Actually, Tom, I dont think the problem is with RAM. That size i quoted refers to the size of the actual fix file i have used. My system is not a beast by any stretch, but is well above the minimum specs for Planescape: Torment. If you dont know this game, i suggest you check it out. Its awesome, though i suppose it depends what youre into...
