Depends on your class...for a
Thief class in any combo - Shadow dragon armor
Mage class in any combo - Robe of Vecna or bladesinger if you do not have the merchant with robe
Warrior/cleric/ranger/druid - Red dragon armor, limited wish armor..(if you can keep the drow armor...there seems to be some way to keep them after leaving underdark...they are the best)
Monk bracers of AC 3

Drow Plate +5 if you are a fighter,
or if like me, a Drow M/T, I'd have to say the Drow Chain +3 rules!

I also like the "Ashen Scales" armor... Minsc loves it!

Armor of the Hart is the best legit armor for figthers AC-2

but ill say the red dragon scale is a better tradeoff AC -1, 50 fire res and does NOT count as magical....its simply cheating to bring the drow armor with you from the underdark..and the game does not use ac counts lower than -10

I'd say Gorgon Plate +4, alone the color is worth getting it!

its also ac-1..but only has a weak 15 fire res and 15 acid rest...acid is the thing you see least to in the game..the red dragon scale is better..way better

becase it alows the combine use of ring of protection +2, ring of graxx,clock of the sewers. the only one (but not for my cute little elf, she just whats to be a bladesinger)

Have to go with Drakron and the rest. Red dragon armor. Period. Looks awesome too. Also lets you equip ring of protection +2, unlike all other magical armors.
