Jaheira. Can't stand her character.
Vicsun, I certainly agree with your assertion that you are an unpleasant person. ~Chanak

Jaheira because of ... basically everything, her character, her opinions, even her voice.

I usually don't hate her in ToB though, because I usually sacrifice her in SoA (during the selfish test in hell, to be precise). :D

Edit: Btw, a good alternative for sacrifing her in hell is to equip her with the Rod of Terror. Not that the charisma drain really affects her, but at least it kills her. ;)

Cernd. Whenever he opens his mouth, I get the urge to go really chaotic evil and feed him his staff. And it bugs me what he did to his wife.

Jaheira is a favorite of mine. She is one of the most fleshed-out characters in the game and has the most depth.

Lady Delcia (Nalia's aunt). I play Good characters, but I always want to feed her to the trolls.

Oh, that one! I suspect she would have eaten the trolls, not the other way around. I've always hated the crude stereotyping of wealthy folk that Bioware does (bad English upper class accents, overdone arrogance, etc), but this is one character that provides a nicely detailed example of pride of family and position.

The character I despise the most is either that annoying villager that was in BG1 and BGII that follows you around going Heya and saying stupied stuff and Anomen. Anomen is a good cleric but his voice, character, and dailouges make me want to make him suffer a gruesome and grizzly death like *censored*. I hate Anomen more becuase that villeger (his nam was Bert or Ernie) is pretty funny, yet annoying while Anomen is just a plain Jack arsed arrogent snob that still wets his bed.

The annoying npc from nashkel's name is noober and all you have to do is keep force talking to him and you'll get about 8000 exp from him. Although I do hate that character, it is nice exp for that early in the game.

Lady Delcia is incredibly annoying. However, she is no Imoen. I get annoyed at Imoen so much. No reason either. But she is just a cack person.

the thing is, for people to hate a character, it means there must be something about their personality that irritates or annoys, which means bioware actually did some characterisation with them.

it's hard to really hate characters like valygar because hes so bland. when someone like annoyman is in the party, valygar just gets on with the job of slaughtering the enemy while annoyman whines about how many trolls he's killed.

same with cernd. admitedly he has rather more characterisation than valygar in terms of his quest but his dialogues seem too wordy for most players (that and his poor physivcal stats until he transforms) thus leading to him not being in parties.

jaheira has the most fleshed out and well written character in the entire game, leading to lots of opinions on her, whether good or bad.

that said, my most disliked character from that list is saemon. but i also love him him as well. i think he was a particularly well written NPC and bioware made me want to grind his bones into dust before he could get away from the githyanki (which i have only managed to do once in god knows how amny play throughs)

Saemon Havarian screws you over so many times over Baldur's Gate II, how can you not hate him? I counted that he screws you over a total of 6 times over Shadows of Amn and Throne of Bhaal. How can you like him now? Unless you like that evil stuff and decided to side with the vampires.

My choice, too. I could grin at his loose morality, but I'd still feed him to something nasty, toothy, and large. :D

Or you can (somehow) knock him out, disarm him, seal him in a cage (no locks, NO WAY TO ESCAPE) with a permanent Anti-Magic Field, and make him listen to Neeber and Noober until his head (non-magically) explodes. Good-bye two-timin' Saemon! :D

Speaking of stereotyping, what about all the mentally ill characters, either having such brought around by injuries to the head, diseases, or magic/curses? Sure, the first two can happen, but they have been WAAAAAAAAY overdone in the BG series.

Oh, and the characters that annoy me the most are the messengers, ESPECIALLY when they interupt an important dialogue!

SPOILERS

I would have to go with Yoshimo, Because the first time I played through the game i had him in my party and then when he betrayed my party in spellhold I was left high and dry with only Imoen's subpar theiving abililties to compensate. I have since modified my playing style to have little or no use for a full class theif, but way back then I needed em

Bodhi and Irenicus.

Both of them have really, really annoying dialogue. Every time you meet them, they get all philosophical and try to get inside your head by talking about your destiny and pretending they have information you want. And you never get dialogue options to basically tell them to shut up and fight.

They'll say something about Imoen and your only dialogue options are "tell me what you know about Imoen!", "I really want to know about Imoen, tell me!" and "tell me PLEASE!" Every time they talk, they're like "this is your destiny" or "I'm going to unlock your power" and it's always such bad philosophy that it makes me cringe just reading it. I get to dialogue with them and I just click random options and hope I don't accidentally close off some important quest.

I also hate Tolgerias, the Cowled Wizard guy.

My favorite character is the beholder from the Sahuagin city / Sendai's Enclave. I also like Bondari, Nanoc, and Tim (the adventurers in Abazigal's Lair who ... well... they're very entertaining.)

In second place I would nominate:

Aeri
I got the erm "poos" with her damn melodramatic cries for attention, even worse was when you spoke your mind and she left the party. That and she had the bloody constitution of a paper bag.

In first place I hated that cheating little pus:

Saemon Havarian
If it wasn't for that mirrored cloak and my need to complete all possible quests, I would kill you resurrect you and kill you again! Killing him was simply not satisfying the least compared to the stuff he put you through and you never got the options you really wanted when talking to him.
Warning: logic and sense is replaced by typos and errors after 11pm

I really dislike Anomen... he's so obnoxiously good and righteous that it makes me want to throw up just a little.
