SW History

Post by Darth_Kendall »

After you finish KOTOR 1 on the Dark Side, you have changed the course of history, with the Jedi being wiped out an Republic defeated! So will KOTOR 2 pick up from u finishing on the Light side of the force or the Dark side? i would really like an option to begin with that will allow you to choose how to start the game depending on how you finished KOTOR 1!

"You don't know the power of the dark side." --Vader to Luke

From what I grasp, your choices will affect the history you are told, but not the basic outcome.

Either the Republic or the Sith forces will win in both cases, Revan, and probably Bastila too, will probably be dead or at least dropped out of things somewhere. Jolee and Juhani are not likely to feature either, since they could be dead or alive depending on the choices you made in the first game, and the Star Forge will have been destoryed one way or another.

Since the endings could wildly affect things, and would mean having to create an almost entirely different story for each ending properly, something has to happen in each case to make this games story flow more or less properly regardless of the outcome of the first game. Any appearances of old characters will most likely be harmless ones, since it depends so much on the first game. Hence the reason T3 will be back I imagine, since you can't understand what he says, and has no real feeling on the matter, being a droid.

Basically when you start the game it will be similar to the first and you'll have amnesia and you'll be in the medical bay of the ebon hawk. The ship is all but abandoned except for you and t3. then throughout the game you will get asked questions about how you played out the first game and what happened. So what you did in the first game and how it ended will affect the 2nd game depending on what you tell them you did. So their could very well be different ways the story plays out.

Sounds very plausible to me, is that something official you got hold of?.
I like the idea that your actions in the 1st game affect what happens in this one.
As regards re-appearing characters we can rule out, Mission, Zaalbar, Jolee, and Juhani. Basically any NPC that could be killed whichever side you took will not be in the new game.
However the game pans out, obsidan will have to go a long way to pull off the kind of revelation that was in KOTOR 1, finding out you were revan was pure genius! lets hope that we get more of the same!

I have to disagree slightly.... while I think there is a very strong chance the characters you mentioned (Mission, Zaalbar, Jolee and Juhani) will not be in the game, the only guarantee is that they will not play a main role. I think the choices you show in the early party of the game will decide whether there are oppurtunities to meet people like Jolee and co at some point.
