Is Force Wave Too Powerful?
I apologize if this was mentioned in another thread, I looked a bit and I didn't find it.
Anyways, isn't this Jedi power unbalanced. It knocks down (and does damage) to everyone arround the Jedi except his allies. When they get up, they are usually in stun mode. Easy pickins for sneak attacks or grenades. But even if they make their save roll, they still take damage and act somewhat disoriented.
I was using a Jedi Consular in my last game, I wanted to experiment and I made some bad attribute decisions. I put a ton into Wisdom and not much into Strength or Con so I was not much with the lightsaber. But I just started repeating the foce wave and I walked around just blowing away the enemies with this power.
So -unbalanced?

I used Force Wave to walk through the latter part of the game easily.
Only the end guy resited on a regular basis, and even then some passed through his defences.
Unbalancing - I dont' know, I mean some (most) of the Force Powers are very powerfull, but it is definately up amongs the most powerful.

insanity is worse..
i've put the fear into terenaks, dark jedi, dark jedi masters, baby rancors, etc...
only you know who has resisted insanity on a regular basis..
speaking of uber force powers, improved energy resistance has just reached number one with me on uber cheesy powers...
stops 15 points of ANY attack, for the duration of force power, and blocks poison...
actually all 3 disable series are all uber powerful...statis has non-blockable slow...

I used Stasis Field a LOT my first time through. Its was only in the end fight that Malak resisted it. On the Leviathan I managed to get him in the Stasis, and then, in pure uber-cheese style, gave him the old "Flurry-Flurry-Stasis. Flurry-Flurry-Stasis." Rinse and repeat. Had there not been a trigger once you get him down to a certain health level I had just rid the world of a Dark Lord.

Hmmm...I was able to use Force Wave quite nicely on Mr. Big, Red and Ugly in the final battle. Just kept hitting him with it, with an occasional lifepack when he got some good hits in. Bye-bye bad guy.

yeah forcewave is very powerful, but i just played a consular a 2nd time through but this time I gave him good attributes with strength and dexterity so he's awesome with a lightsaber as well as his force powers. (SPOILER)
I actually killed Darth Malak on the Leviathon(in a sense) I really did take away all his life points, he had nothing left on his life bar. But they still let him talk and fight bastilla . To bad I could've rid the galaxy of him right then.

I would say that it may be unbalanced a little bit...I've actually had less trouble in "Difficult" mode taking out large groups of enemies, especially with Quel Droma robes, and the Circlet of Sareesh, with a combined bonus of 5 to wisdom.
My Stasis field is pretty damn powerful too, I put all of the people on the bridge into a stasis field, as well as several groups of dark jedi...I'm lookinf forward to the star forge!

Yeah. Force wave can be used to stun a whole group of enemies, then subsequently damage then again, so on and so forth, stunning them every time. If anyone playing a consular, light or dark, is having trouble using force powers on Malak, take the plague line of powers. It's irresistable, and lowers his saves incredible low, allowing you to step all over him with all sorts of powers and such.

plague is wonderful. It levels the playing field everytime. Against Darth Malak, he becomes really puny. If you play like I did, just lightside close to neutral alignment consular, when using plague, master valour and insanity malak cannot, I repeat, cannot save against me. Even if he rolls a 20. His will save 27 - 6 from plague = 21.... my DC= 46 (with mstr valour). Without valour it would be 41 so he would have a 5% chance of saving. Anyone who said that force powers were useless against malak has just been proved wrong.

Um, Force Wave doesn't *always* stun opponents. I've had several encounters where one or two got thrown back, but not stunned.
