Some Incongruities

Post by dragon wench »

I thought it might be entertaining to create a list things that don't seem to make much sense in Morrowind :D

1. Where are the spiders? In every tomb I have explored, spider webs have decorated dark, ghost-infested corners.. but no minions of Shelob have ever poured forth to sink dripping fangs into my poison-vulnerable character.

2. Where are the sapphires? We have 'extravagant ruby amulets' and 'extravagant sapphire amulets', and there are scores of raw rubies, raw emeralds, raw diamonds and raw pearls.. but no sapphires... Or at least, I have not yet seen any.

3. And as others have extensively discussed... where are the children? I don't exactly get the sense highly advanced cloning technology exists on Vvardenfell... :p

4. Why do NPCs that are well-disposed towards you still attack regardless? What I mean is, when you approach a smuggler or rogue Ashlander while invisible and engage them in conversation, their disposition rating can be at around 75%, you'll have a lovely chat about the weather, the Nevarine and possibly you'll even be invited to stay for a nice cuppa. :p Then, as soon as you click on "good-bye," they immediately launch into combat mode

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

5. You get quite a few Bandits and people living in run-down shacks going around with high-profile names such as Hlaalu and Dren. One person in Oran Manor, Suran, has "Aryon" as his last name. Are there, erm, relations between those people? Dark Elfs in Morrowind definitely use the last name as their family name.

6. Maybe a bit like Dragon Wench's point number 4, but the Ashlanders that attack the Neverarine, or that tell him that it is not proper to discuss it with him.

7. Dremora Lords do not carry the daedric longbow.
If pro is the opposite of con, is Congress the opposite of progress? - Thanks to Blake for the avatar! :)
