According to the manual, a character must have a Wisdom of 17 or 18 to be able to cast 6th and 7th level spells, respectively. I am running a good-aligned party, and thus don't want Viconia this time. I's already been discussed that Cernd is weak (Jahiera is far better IMO even with the 14 Wisdom); and those that are left have 14 to 16 Wisdom scores.
The question is: since the tomes went bye-bye (from BG1) is there ANY way to get Jahiera's, Aerie's, or Anomen's wisdom up to 17 or more? This is assuming that the manual is correct and they will not be able to get to those nice high-level spells, mind you....

Yeah, sure I had jaheira casting level 6.
Anomen's wis goes upto 16 if you do his quest right anyway.

Thanks....
I know that Aerie and Jaheira are limited more by their experience cap than anything to do with Wisdom in this case, so the question was really directed about Anomen, I guess. For him, then, the rule doesn't apply, then? He gets to 6th and 7th level spells?
Makes a whole new point to a need to put up with his arrogant ass....assuming again that Viconia is not considered for your party.
What is the purpose (realistically) of having a Druid in this game even HAVING 7th level spells, anyway? It seems to me if they have a totally different level structure (with that "Great-Druid" stuff at 14th level and up) that their spell progression should have been different, too...just my opinion....

And while on the Druids, if you remove the experience point cap, what happens to them? Are they still road-blocked at level 14? The manual implies they SHOULD be able to at least reach 16 before that mysterious drop back down to 500k experience at 17....
