Problem with Paladin and Ranger stronghold
Problem with Paladin and Ranger stronghold
Major Spoiler Request
I have the multipule-stronghold mod installed and have run into a problem.
Here goes,
I was Ranger Lord in Umar Hills also a Member of the Radiant Heart in Amn, (temple DIstrict).. All goes well, I was given the quest to liberate some paladines in the Umar Hills. I waited a day or so, (not much longer if longer), then went to Umar.
My cabin was closed and the people disgruntal towards me. No Paladins.
Went back and was expelled from the order.
Did I lose both Lordships with one misstake? I think I did.
(I fought some rebel paaldins then rested that was it before I left to Umar.)
P.S>
Is there more to the Ranger Lordship assuming I did not lose it???
Also the Oger and his gang were gone.
Thanx for any and all replies

When you got the quest to save the paladins, the quest-giver clearly said "immediatly", which means the quest fails when you wait too long, a day in this case. I suggest reloading.

The Paladin Stronghold loss had nothing to do with loosing the Ranger Stronghold.
But, you must visit the Umar Hills every so often or you’ll lose it. Basically there is a timer for two events that happen after you accept the Rangers Stronghold. If you slack on your duties and are not around when one of them comes up then you lose your Ranger Stronghold. After those two events
*Spoiler*
Men logging the forest, and...
Umar herself has returned
You don’t need to return anymore as the Stronghold is finished, and you can't lose it. If you haven’t done these two things then you probably let too much time go by without checking on the village and you lost it.
The only other variable is if after you got the stronghold you bought alcohol and swords for the kids. This also removes your Ranger status.
The odd thing is usually you’ll get a runner saying the lord (forget name) in Umar Hills wants to see you. If you blew off one of these requests then you lost the Ranger Stronghold.

That's really bad on my part I bought the kids beer and swords/ They are in the cave, can I just avoid it??
Can I force a 'variable with man logging forest and Umar returns.
SPOILER REQUEST please
What happons in both these cases? Especially whats up with Umar, that sound cool?? Guy or Girl??
Also what happons to the Oger and pals are they with the paladin quest?
I'll probably play it out later tonight.

Sorry Patrick, if you bought them beer and swords then you no longer have the Ranger Stronghold, as it's not a Rangerly thing to do. And there’s no way to get it back. The only way is to reload a game before you gave that stuff to the kids.
There probably is a variable in Shadowkeeper that you could reset, but I don’t know what it is.

The first one a Dryad approaches you as you enter the Umar Hills map and tells you a group of humans is defiling the forest. So, you go back to the Temple Ruins map, just the forest part and speak to these guys. They are searching for a treasure of Illithium (? Can’t remember exactly) because of a map, and won’t stop the destruction. So, you have to wander around and you find a note made by the same guy who did the map and it says all he found was thing cup (or something) bring back those two items to the guys and they leave.
The second one is a human sorcerer is terrorizing Umar Hills acting as the witch Umar. The mayor tells you Umar herself has returned. Go to the temple ruins and you find her inside and kill her (real easy fight).
Both are really simple and not much to them, so they’re not that exciting. But they are still fun. The best things about it though you get a figurine from the Dryad after the second incident, that is a spirit lion (or something, forget) that has true sight, a roar that gives remove fear, and a lick that heals. It’s a pretty cool figurine. But you must have a Ranger in the party to use it.
btw, my browser is too jacked up with protection to get the black text to work for spoilers.

This a two thread post please anwser in one or the other(Global Variables=thread) I feel this one is more appropreate
I am having difficulty with Ranger/protector too. I reset my value to 4 an at least the folk of Imnsvale are peacful with me now. But does changing global variables reset scripts in the player journal/log book. I messed with them a lot and the journal stayed the same.
I failed earlier by giving the kids the swords and ale. (I think this is 'Kidsrun- away variable) DOes anybody know what this is if I don't give the kids the ale, or what it would be called instead??
If someone can referance this with a saved game of their own that would be great.
There is another variable called Mindscreammindsimenvale??? Don't know what that is.
Any help would be appreshiated.
Even when I reset the variableslike Ranger/protector I still cannot access the cabin. Do I need the cabin to get further quest in this town or does anybody think I can get around it otherwise
Thanx
