Umar Hills in Multiplayer?

Post by Mageblade »

Hi All:

Love these forums! ALOT of help here! :) I hope someone can help me with my problem. I'm playing BG2 in multiplayer mode, with all the characters assigned to me (custom party), and I've done quite a few of the "quests" : Circus Tent, de'Arnise Keep (kicked a party member out to take on Nalia), Slaver's Stockade, Windspear Hills, plus a few more, but I have yet to have the little boy approach me to have me help out in Umar Hills. I noticed when I was playing the single player game that Minsc spoke up right away when the boy approached. Do I need to have Minsc in my party to get the boy to approach me? I know I can use the CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("<AR1100") cheat to go there, but call me old fashioned, I like to follow along the plot that's been set up in the game as much as possible. Does anyone have any ideas how to get to Umar the "games" way?

Many thanks friends,

You do not need minsc to get Umar hills on the map.

Unless I'm mistaken, go to the bridge district, and a merchant will speak with you. He will tell you of the troubles and you get to go.

Maybe I'm wrong and its in the Copper Coronet where you speak to Lord Jerdan.

Lord Jeirdan gives you the windspearhills.
The little boy approaches you in the docks district.
But you can also go to the Goverment district and talk to Tolgieras in the the Council of Six's building, he will gice you the Valygar quest witch sends you to umar hills

Funny, I was sure the boy approached me about the Umar Hills in (and only in) the Government District.
Give us the gate key.
I have no gate key.
Fezzik, tear his arms off.
Oh, you mean this gate key?

When you reach a certain level the boy Delon will approach your party if you have Minsc in it or if your protagonist is a Ranger.

I can't say, what level your character or characters have to be before it triggers this event but it's not very hard to just visit the government district.

The little boy is standing out in the middle of the government district, next to the fountain... at least he has been for me the past several times I've played (and I didn't have any rangers in my party.)

I checked it. If you have Minsc or you are a ranger he approaches you. If not you must find him. The district he approaches you in is not specific. The lvl part i have no real idea about, since classes gain lvl's at different rates

You might have noticed that Lord Jierden stands inside the Copper Coronet and keeps repeating, "I have an offer for you if you'd like to hear it." Similarly, Delon stands in the center of the Government District repeating the same thing. However, if Minsc is in your party, Delon will hunt you down if you don't talk to him within six days after Gaelan and Brus tell you that "a little boy in the Government District" wants to talk to you. That's why you might meet him somewhere besides the Government District.

Thanks!

Thank you!

I'll look for Delon in the Government Disctrict.
