Masquerade Violation [spoilers]

Hi:

I'm getting to the end of the 'Carnival of Death' quest, making the final confrontation. But when I do, not matter how I seem to work the dialogue I get a 'Masquerade Violation'. Now I reloaded a save so I'll do it and then go right to something that gets me a 'redemption', but I'm wondering if completing that quest always gives a violation?

Thats the serialkiller quest right?
If not, dont highlite:
I had the same problem, when he told me his story about his wife and kids i got a violation, when i just killed him i got the same experience but a redemption. Looks like a small bug> i think there was an option to let him live, hence the violation. Just kill him on sight,to finish the quest!
