Skill Points Per Level

Hello To All

I was wondering whether anyone knows the number of skill points gained per level for each class.

In the "Strategy Guides" section of the gamebanshee.com KoTOR site, someone claims that Scouts gain 6 points per level and that Jedi Sentinels also gain 6 points per level. However, I know this to be incorrect since I was a Scout and a Jedi Sentinel and only had a total of 82 skill points at the end of the game when I was a level eight scout and level twelve jedi. If you are a math-type: 6 points/level x 20 levels = 120 points --> this does not equal 82 obviously. (I counted 82 by adding all the actual -- excluding bonuses -- skill points I accumulated at the end of the game. I double-counted persuade points since they cost two points each.)

I would appreciate it if anyone could clarify.

If I am not mistaken, scouts got 4 per level if no int bonuses. Sentinels get a whopping extra ONE (1) skill point per level making 2 per level if no int bonuses (see Bastila's skill points as she levels up, she only ever got two per level with her 10 intelligence). Scoundrels get 6 per level if no int bonuses I believe.

Your response inspired another question.

Please explain the intelligence modifier to me. I am aware of the bonuses given to a character (i.e. an Intelligence level of 12 provides a bonus of +1), but I am unclear as to how this affects skill points each level.
