game crashes when escaping from the beach

I'm in the mission where I have to talk to the archeologist. i get to him, i have the answer, and then i run away. when I enter the boat, the 'load game' screen appears and when the bar is full the game crashes. can anyone help me?? I'm getting desperate :(
