Killing the lady from the east! *spoiler*

Post by Anthropod »

Okey, i have teamed up with the Anarchs, and i have to kill the baron of chinatown and the prince. I'm stuck in a room with a water mill. The problem is the door which is blocked with a wooden bar ON MY SIDE! This shouldn't be so difficult, just remove the bar go on through. As i approch this bar, an icon appears. From what i can understand the bar will be removed if i press "E", the action button. Or perhaps not...... it won't budge, so what shall i do? Is it a bug, or have i missed something?

You are supposed to walk against the handle that sticks out to move it but for me this has been bugged every time and it won't move (seems like the bar sometimes falls down a bit and gets stuck in the door geometry).

So I used the noclip console command to go thru the door and then turn the noclip off again.

Okey, i tried the noclip command. But after i close the console, i only get a windows cursor and the game does not respond.

In Order to open the door you have to do the following:

1. Kill all the Guard in the room (3 i think)
2. Safe
3. Load
4. Move as close as possible to the door
5. go right

Now the thing blocking the door should be moving.

At least this is how it worked for me. Important is that all the guards are dead and that you safed and reloaded afterwards.

Hope that helps you folks.

When using the console try using ESC to close it instead of using your mouse and clicking on the X.
Noticed that if you use the mouse most of the time it freezes up like you described.

yeh stuck on this same spot .. get that little icon for the door hold .. obvious need to *use it, but doesnt seem to work*

i'll try the load reload thing .. see how that goes

edit:

the obvious was to "use" .. when the icon comes up but a push is needed to get the door hold moving

ok this worked for me..

i did save the game right infront of the door before i came to the forums and posted my last post..

when i reloaded this point i was able to simply push the door hold.. it still blocks half the doorway entry.. but you can continue on..

not sure if it was the save/reload procedure or not..

edit :

played through a second time.. this time with the door block all i did was push out of the way .. once back the wrong way then full the other(right) way

I believe after you dispatched the guards are tigger is activated, that makes
the door openable. But the game only checks the status of the trigger, if the
area data is gets loaded. So you either have to save and reload or leave the area and come back

The noclip command in console worked for me! Now i only need to assassinate the bi***. That's harder than i thought, especially when i'm a stealth malkavian. I have som skills in ranged, but she doesn't take much damage from bullets! I have some close combat skills, but they aren't good enough! Does anyone have a good tactic to beat this tentacle monster?

My tactic was not very efficient, but it worked.
First of all, i played a Tremere but was focused on melee.
I don't know how well it would work with low melee skill.

What i did was hitting her until one of her tentacles was cut off.
Then i killed the fallen Tentacle and proceeded to hit her again.
If i was hurt to bad, i backed off until i was healthy enough to suck up
a couple of hits again.

I took care not to kill of too many of her tentacles at the same time, since
she will use a *very* *very* *very* hurtful long range tentacle attack then.

Every time she went a little upright to do a bite attack, i backed off, too since this attack hurts plenty.

Well eventually , after maybe 20 minutes she was dead. Note however, that she not only regenerate tentacles (which is a good thing) but also regains health at a slow rate.

I would be curious to hear other, more efficient, approaches.

combat shotgun, lots of ammo and auto fire mode works quite nicely agains her and other big sized monsters. Firing full auto at close range does wonders even if your firearms skill is low :)

I just kept shooting her until her tentacles fell off, then shot them before they could get bigger. Don't forget the sticky slime on the floor... stay on the perimeter to move around quickly.

Burn the witch

For this battle the flame thrower rocks. My melee malki only had 3 in ranged weapons so I knocked her down to about half health and unloaded two tanks of flamethrower at her head and she was toast.

Whew ... the queen of Respawn City ...

She was a tough battle, but more frustrating was the endless respawn of her guards, with heal-up places few and far between ... and given that I played the 'four pillar' thing pretty poorly (didn't notice things first, then mis-read when i went back, so I had to hit a couple of them 3 times!), I saw lots of them ...

I have the flamethrower, she doesn't take much damage. Strange  ????
