I have this game. I'm a julliate and so far I've taken over all of spain brittania and most of germania. The romans are going to be difficult when it comes to that though because they have all of northern africa and some stratigic spots in germania.
It's not possible to "complete" Rome: Total War.
Of course it is, once you have conquered 50 provinces AND Rome, it's completed. If that's not good enough for, conquer the entire map and leave Rome in peace until everything is taken care of, then conquer it, and then there's absolutely nothing left to do.

If that's not complete, i don't know what is.

I got bored before I reached the 'end', or the 50 provinces whatever you want.

Because that is just finishing one campaign. There are about 20 civs to play.

And Rome: Total War's AI is so bad that I now exclusively play online.

The ridiculously-long-overdue patch is supposedly in bug testing, now, and will be out at the end of the month. How nice of the developers to allow all purchasers of the game to bug test it for them.

We can all think that we had the chance to beta test the game.

True. Assuming you wanted to go into product testing as a means of achieving bankruptcy, you could add it to a resume: "Beta-tested the following game titles: TW:Rome; ToEE; Bloodlines..." ;)

Patch 1.2 is out, and is one of the best patches ever. Of course, you could say that the original (or rather, the 1.1) was so bugged that once you had the patch you immediately notice a HUGE improvement...
