Help! Can't get back to Durlag's Tower level 4

Post by Game Genie »

I read in the Stragety Guide section that "The spirit of Islanne offers to send you to the surface - good for a quick exit (and you can return quite easily as well)."

I went to the surface, but now can't get back to level 4. Not sure what it means by returning "easily"?! I tried to go back through each level but now can't even get past level 2 since all of the doors are shut. I try hitting the sparring dummies, but they don't open the right doors.

Ack! Any help? Thanks much in advance...

The dummies should work with a wierd and unknown to me combination. Just work at it. You may have to pan and run around to check results. Just try the doors. If I remember correctly there is a room with a chess board, it will just teleport you across I think?? Been a while. But fret knot, it is possible to get back, for sure.

Check out the guide for this level here:
http://www.gamebanshee.com/baldursgate/ ... tower2.php

Note that when you return to this level, the door to Room 5 should still be open (if not, hitting the dummies should open it). If the dummies are not working, then try a reload. Remember to hit them only a couple of times! And hit the correct one - the centre dummy should open the door to Room 5 (The Throne Room). Also note that the correct coloured stone (from Room 3 - The Bedroom) has to be in the dummy's inventory. In this case, it is the Red Stone.

Hope that helps!

Thanks!

Thanks much to you both...

I used your hints, and also finally had my Mage use the Knock spell to get me through the remaining doors. PHEW! ;)

It is possible to leave and return to the lower levels of Durlag's Tower, it just requires a little bit of messing about. Good luck with Lvl 3 and 4!

Cheers,
