It's frustrating :(

Post by cipher. »

Recently I began playing this game, which is quite interesting. My problem is that, sometimes when I'm walking, my character begins like to levitate, I mean, like moving all over the room, I don't have control of him (I move him forward, he goes round, then appears at the other side of the screen and things like that). It's frustrating because I want to walk to a door or a room and the character is just not responding. I have the latest patch (1.03b), at least for Mac.

Any help over here? How can I avoid this?

I usually ran into this in the various apartments on Taris. On the Windows (PC) version, it went away when I installed the 1.03 patch, upped the maximum size of the paging file then started a brand new game.

Before that, I would do one of two things: leave a party member in the hall (using solo mode) and enter the room. WHen I was ready to leave, I would turn off Solo Mode and switch to the other character and move him to get the first character to leave the apartment. Once everyone was in the hall, I saved the game, exited completely, then restarted the game and reloaded that save game. It kept the bug from happening until I entered another apartment.

Don't know enough about Macs to guide you there, but hopefully this will point you in the right direction.
