a couple of questions

Post by RP80 »

I just dusted off my BII cds and deceided to give it a go. At first I started thinking about creating an evil charachter but I'm much to stuck in the whole "getting the ultimate amount of xp and items" to roleplay an evil char correctly I think.
So now I'm thinking of maybe go for an archer dualed later to a mage. What I was wondering though is if archers can dual to mage? I think I tried to create archer/mage when the game came out but it didn't work if I remember correctly.
But if it works, what's the best way to setup this kind of charachter? Skills, weapon choices, party npc:s etc I mean. And is an archer/mage a good choice if I deceide to buy the expansion later?

They can. However, archers (as rangers) must be of the good alignment.

So what I'd advice is to install Tactics(?) which has a bit of it, that installs a "generic archer kit", install that, and it will be under the fighter menu. Just have the right int.

How much of an archer do you want this guy to be... and how much of a mage?
Tact is for people not witty enough to be sarcastic

You can create a fighter and dual him over to a mage and simply put maximise the mastery points you have in twohanded weapons and short bows (more recommended).

You could also use Shadow Keeper... but it is cheating and not a legitimate character.
