Monster In Dinner

Post by egilbert1978 »

When I first entered the dinner in Santa Monica, to get a lead on Lily's location I noticed a blond guy standing in the corner. I was able to initiate a conversation with him, but did not get any dialogue options that went anywhere, so I attacked him. He turned into some kind of monster and killed me fairly quickly. I returned to the dinner after completing the thin blood quest and he was gone. Does anyone know who or what this monster is and is it worth killing him when you first meet him?

He's impossible to kill as far as i know.

You will meet him later in the game.

Monster ...

Best guess is that he's a werewolf since Level 5 Protean for a Gangrel seems to look different. Maybe it was just my timing, but it seems that he may have been the source of the werewolf blood LaCroix has you go after.

I think he's the vampire that's responsible for the Santa Monica pier slashing. You looks just like the guy when you finally confront him in that quest. I dunno, maybe not.

***SPOILER***

He is the murderer in Santa Monica, who sliced up the people at the pier. You should be able to initiate dialog with him, but it will be very short and doesn't lead anywhere. After talking to him once, you won't be able to talk to him again. He dissapears later on, to return later in the game, where you must face him in combat. My best guess is that he is a high level Gangrel with protean 5, which is why he beat you up at first ;) I don't think he is actually a werewolf, since in the proper Vampire way (by the rules), a single vampire beating a werewolf in head-to-head combat is anything but possible. He is just a very strong Gangrel who is very pissed off about having his family murdered

True ...

That is a good point about werewolves - they are supposed to be a hell of a lot stronger than Kindred. Then there are a number of things the game designers have taken liberites with. When I tried that guy at the Surfside Diner out he kicked my butt ;)

bah, i'm still pissed for not able to kill that big bad wolf - they should made him very strong but not impossible to kill, like 2 canisters of flames would take him :D
