Thought I'd post this as I didn't see it in the walkthrough.
Don't increase your brawl stat above 2 before you speak to Nines in the Last Round bar. When you do speak to him, be nice and ask him to tell you the truth about thing etc - there are several nodes in this conversation thread, but it should be fairly obvious. At the end he'll give you some generic advice and will also teach you brawling as long as you're under 3 (I tried doing the conversation again with brawl at 3 and he just said I already knew the basics), this gave me a free brawl stat increase.
I can live with the stuttering issue, the numerous tecture bugs, but the inflexible logic of the quest system is something I really hope they patch soon. I've already had to reload saves from seveal hours before because I inadvertently did things out of sequence and messed up the triggers, sigh.
(*Spoiler*)Stats increase from Nines

What quest did you do that with? I havent experienced any of these problems. Then again i havent attacked anyone in my first game, except when i needed to.
I believe Nines also teaches you a ranged skill later.

I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.
