Help! Possible bug on "Come Into My Parlor"

Post by Xeen »

So, here's the deal. First time in the building, I speak to Mandarin and head to those tests of his. I got stuck, so I loaded a previous save game, and did some quests instead. Later, I decide to try this quest again. I get the welcoming speech from Mandarin from the big-screen tv, and I say I'll be right through the doors.

Then, I remember I should do something else around chinatown and do Mandarin later. So, finally, after I'm done with the chores around Chinatown, I get set, get my blood full, but what happens?? I can't get through the double doors to trigger the testings. The doors are slammed shut, and can't be opened! I can't speak to him through the camera/tv. Am I doomed to start over the entire game? Before going in for the mission for the last time, I erased all of the saved games, and made a fresh save and quick save, to clean up the load/save department.

Perhaps you can help me out somehow? At least, if you have the code to the doors on the left, perhaps I can complete the mission, and move on with the ankaran sarchouphogus.

You know how to activate the console right?

Oh man, I really hate cheating. I've gone through everything by now without cheating.

About the console. No, I don't know how to activate it. Does ` work? I'll find out somehow. ;)

Instructions, in case u didnt find info on how:

1. Right-click on the shortcut you use the launch the game
2. Select properties
3. Make sure you are on the shortcut tab
4. At the end of the target line add -console, add this outside of the quotes
5. The finished line should look like this if you have the game installed to the default directory:

"C :P rogram FilesActivisionVampire - Bloodlinesvampire.exe" -console

6. Hit ok, make sure you launch the game using this shortcut

Don't worry, using the console to get past a problem is nowhere near cheating(in my opinion at least)

There is a slight "bug" when using the console. You cannot use it when you are in-game, otherwise it will lock up your game (well, it locks my game up at any rate). You can load whatever game you wish to use console commands on. Then hit escape to get out to the first level of menu's ("Continue" etc.), then use the console (open the console, type your command in, hit submit, close console and return to world screen).

Other than this minor issue, this is the most user friendly console I've come across.
