How do I get my constitution up to wear Keldorn's armor? (Monk)

Post by Baassie »

I'm a Monk with a Constitution of 16, but I need at least a 17 to wear Keldorn's armor. How do I accomplish this? Is there an item there I can use? Please, no cheats. Just the goods.

Check the item list on this site, if the item exists, they will most probably have listed it here.

As for Keldorn's Plate, isn't it 'can only be used by Keldorn', much like other NPC-specific items??

No, Monks can wear the armor. Read Dan Simpson's FAQ. Problem with the equipment listing on the site is that is doesn't mention the effects everything has. So if you can't make it out of it's name, you don't know anything about an item. Like the girdle of Hill Giant Strenght. It gives you a strenght of 19, but it doesn't say that, just it's location.

In order to find out what an item does, you have to CLICK on it. There is a location for the girdle of fortitude, but that won't help you. It doesn't permanently raise your constitution, it has the ability to do it temporarily once per day. You would have to keep removing the armour. If you want to give it a try anyway, it is in the cult of the unseeing eye quest, from Gaal.

Er...
I'm kinda sure Monks can't use armour.
Not?

I have a Monk, but in another game. I'm saving him for Multiplayer.
He's awesome, honest. Check this out:
STR 18
DEX 18
CON 18
INT 14
WIS 18
CHA 3
all spare thieving points on detect traps
Long Sword +
Scimitar +
Single Weapon Style +
I took the least possible for charisma for 2 reasons. First, it's a lawful evil monk. Second, early in the game, you can find the Ring of Human Influence, which boosts the little 3 charisma to the full 18? Yee-haw! That's 15 points to divide between other stats!

AND HE AIN'T HACKED IF THAT'S WHAT YE'RE THINKING!!!

Well, just so all you Monk-lovers out there know...
Let your Monk wear the girdle of Fortitude, get your Constitution up and put Keldorn's armour in your armour slot. Once the 8 hours are over your Constitution will go down. Looking at the Inventory screen you will see Keldorn's armour is shown in red (stating you are not proficient in using it or in this case, you haven't got the right amount of Constitution anymore), but it's still in the armour slot and your AC is still the same! Don't you just love it?! I haven't used the patch, so I don't know if it will also work with the patch. My advice would be to not use the patch at all when you're a Monk. It's not cheating (as far as I am concerned). Don't forget my friends...
