Can norm ranger can have animal companion??

I am a level 11 standard Ranger (i didnt like the kits on offer) and i was wondering if i could get a animal companion.
I have the figurine of the moon dog like drizzt's panther but woul like a actual companion.
Any way to do this without haveing to charm all the time????????

Sadly the answer is no. The developers found neither time nor way to add this feature to the game. It would have been like having an additional, animal, NPC in your party. Simply too much work to make it work properly.

thats a shame because they gave mages pets so why cant rangers have them as well

hopefuly an expansion pack will be able to correct this

I just had a look at the info at the official site and it said that rangers would also be able to have a animal companion.
Very confusing????????????/
