You only die once a Night?
Ah, come on... Another bugg in the game, or whatever u wanna call it =/
This quest is IMPOSSIBLE... =( My character is a "Fighter" I take the zombies in 2 hits.. But with 1 min left.. Its just impossible.. U just cant be at 2 places at same time..
They _KEEP COMMING_ at both fences, altho they walk slow, doesnt matter, since they are So damn many with just a minute left..
Even if there was only 1 fence to protect, it would be _VERY_ hard, since they come so damn many ! and if just one zombie start suck ur blood, the rest 5 zombie will hit u..
Oh well, nothing suprise me in this game anymore, Im sure they didnt even test this quest, they just trew it in at the last minute or something.
Does anyone know some king of cheat? Because atm, I cant continue in the game, I dont wanna loose a masaquarade because of this stupid quest.
Thanks!

Balron, welcome to the forums! Please check out the site owner's forum rules, especially the one about vulgarity, eumphemisms, letters, etc. I'm normally inclined to let a lot of stuff slide, but when you put it in the thread title, that's a bit different. Got a few personal messages from adults whose kids access the forums. Changed your thread title; please keep it in mind in the future. Thanks.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
hehe, does kids play this game?
Then the parents should be more affraid of the game, not this forum
Anyway, ok got it...
But I just want a cheat or something, if someone know any...
I made it to 18 sec left this time.. But trust me, the game lagged so **** hard because of all zombies, and I though I cleared the gate good, when I headed to the other, but just sec later, the gate was destroyed..
I smell bugg here, the spawn of the zombies is too big.

Do you have Celerity? If so, enabling it at 3:00(or whenever your blood won't run out before the timer) or so should make this a piece of cake(at least compared to the hard way).
At the beginning, take ammo from Romero's chest. You may need to wait a few seconds for it to spawn. Then run to front gate. Wait until 4:00, and when three zombies spawn, only kill the one closest to the gate. Run to the back gate. Take a shortcut, don't go downhill but jump to the roof of the crypt undereath. You should meet a zombie at the corner of Romero's hut. Kill it, and run back to the front gate. Take shortest route, jump to the left side of the large cross on the slope up, this saves a few metres, jump over the fallen pillar near the front gate. Kill zombies, run to back gate, rinse, repeat.
The amount of the undead increases at 4:00, 3:00, 1:30 and 0:50. Only kill those very and I mean VERY close to the gates, the moment you kill them they will respawn in most inconvenient places. Namely, too close to the other gate. Or near you, so you are tempted to waste time by killing it again. Additionally, do try and not damage the gates yourself. It's pretty easy to slip a little bit when giving the walking dead the axe. And avoid the undead when running. Use strafe. You are not in that much hurry. Getting Brains!ed takes too much time.
I'm not having too much problems with it anymore, but maybe that's just me. It required the use of the cheat console to figure out the timings, though. Bad me, bad. You can all scold me now.
Really, it's not that bad. This is just a side quest. It's the disaster with the pumps that the developers should be taken out and shot for...

You're only about a minute short if you only guard one gate. Just run back and forth between gates and don't let them pile up on either one. Kill about 8-10 zombies around each gate and a few during the trip and you'll be OK, no celerity or any disciplines needed. As for zombies biting you, you can tell when a zombie is attempting a bite, it'll raise its hands (instead of letting them hang limp) so steer clear of any that look like they wanna give you a hug.
If you have decent ranged skills, you can get atop the wall near the upper gate and have shots at both. This is the larger pillar in the corner of the wall, jump on the nearby tombstone, then onto the wall at the pillar. Becarefull not to move much there or you will fall off.
Only 2 types of zombies attack the gate, the hunched over female zombie and the stiff zombie in a suit. These are the ones to concentrate on keeping away from the gates.

Man, I totally can't complete this quest either.
tmp: I don't have Celerity
Jandau: I don't know how you're so easily doing it. After the 1min mark, even if I completely clear on gate, by the time I get to the other gate, the one I just left is falling.
Deidre: I got up on the wall and tried all 3 positions (the 3 parts of the wall that you can get up by jumping on tombstones), but all of my shots are hitting the wall's fence/latticework. The only way I can get a shot to go over the wall is to jump but that kills accuracy.
At this point I've tried every suggestion and everything I can think of, so I'm giving up for now too.

OK, here's a more detailed description:
For the first 30 seconds - 1 minute there are hardly any zombies. During that time, stick to one gate. After 1-1.5 minutes run to the other gate and kill some 10 zombies. By this time, they should have started piling up at the first gate. Run back and clear the crowd. Kill a few more, and return to the second gate. Keep running back and forth like this and you'll be fine. The key is not to let them pile up on either gate. As I said before, no celerity or any other disciplines needed.....

I never did finish the quest, because I was a melee-based Malkavian (took the prostitute quest instead). However I've noticed that turning on Auspex allows you to see which zombies are the 'gate-attacking' ones. Those in a blue or red glow will attack you, and do not approach the gate. Those with a greenish / light blue glow will attack the gates. If you have auspex you can try turning it on to see which zombies you can run from and which you have to kill.
I found out second time around, that the tactic that worked the first time around didn't work anymore. Which makes giving instructions somewhat difficult. If you don't succeed, it's probably NOT because you followed instructions incorrectly.
I got it licked second time by collecting the ammo and then killing a few scattered zombies, and starting at the front gate at 4:00, killing zombies for some twenty seconds and running to back gate to intercept the zombies there. Much like the first time, but I had to kill more zombies every time I was at a gate. My success was ridiculously dependent on the timing - I had to tweak the time spent on each gate until it worked out. Some people luck out - I finished the guest the very first time I tried it, but the game crashed. The second success took many tries.
Oh, and you may want to save at 4:10 or so...
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

The first time I completed this quest it was real easy. My character wasn't specialized in firearms and I didn't understand that a direct head shot was needed so it took me a lot of rounds to kill one zombie. The second time I re-played the game, despite the fact that I had 8 in ranged weapons, no matter of many zombies I shot down, the gates were breached at about 1 minute left. I even cheated bringing up the flamethrower (real easy to kill hordes of zombies) and still I couldn't complete the quest!
My guess is that not only the number of zombies increase over time but also stronger zombies are spawned after a certain number of deaths. If you don't kill a lot of zombies (like I did the first time becaue I didn't have the skills)you'll end up with fewer monsters running around the cemetery and most of them are unable to force the gates. This is just speculation based on my experience.
I had no problem with this quest after I figured it out. What I did was just as soon as the timer starts I ran as far away (in the coner behind the cript of that famous lady) from the zombies as I could and just sat there faced away watching the timer run out. No console required
This works quite well...although you have to save when about 1 min left
My character was tremere(without celerity, my favourite discipline )
When I tried it for the first time, the zombies break through the gate when 0.24sec left ...after I reloaded the game they were a little bit faster(14 sec left), but the 3rd try was succesful. I finished this quest earlier with toreador, 4 or 5 celerity, but i recommend this one, its a lot easier and U have to reload only 3-4 times. And yes, indeed those with a greenish glow will attack the gates, but no matter how hard i tried to focus on those zombies I always failed cause they respawn too fast and too close to the gates. Anyway, I'm sure that you can do this without celerity and
without 'hiding' and maybe it's working only in few comps like mine and Zeplins, but it's worth trying once

well, I just finished my second time through the game as a Tremere today, and I have to say, thinking back on this quest, that I was quite suprised. The first time I had played through as a Torredor, I was dreading this quest as I had read this tread thinking it was so hard. But then I was pleasenly suprised as, with using speed, I finished it with little or no effort(less zombies, less spawns, etc) But when I played through as a Tremere, I was thinking this would be just as easy the second time, if not a bit esier with my new spells thjat could take out zombies easily. I was very, very wrong. Actually, I was so wrong, that I went through a short depression after about 20 attempts at this quest. Thing is, the respawn was so much greater with so many zombies in this game, that I couldn't even complete the quest for a while(I got to 4 seconds on one...I was so pissed when I failed)...Ends up I had to use the noclip cheat so I could get to the 2 gates fast enough...on looking back and reloading the save before this quest on my Torredor game, I notcied that there were MUCH less zombies than on my Tremere game, and that they didn't respawn as quickly...strangely enough, the developers had to make this arrangements themselves, making the quest for any other clans without speed nearly impossilbe(havn't tried it with any other bloodlines besides Torredor and Tremere). Mabye I'll look at the game script and see if there actually are any changes in accordance to experiance, clan, etc...

I managed to finish this quest about four times with the following tactic.
After I've tried to hide for the whole five minutes (whicht didn't work, they broke through the back gate with about 20 seconds left), I modified this tactic a bit.
First, hide behind the mausoleum. When there are about 1:10 left (without celerity; if you have celerity, you may hide longer), go to the back gate. At your arrival, there are about 30 seconds left. Now, protect that gate until the timer runs out. Surprisingly, they do not break through the front gate...
