nwn chapter 1
when I enter blacklake I get killed by mad dogs?
You are obviosly doing the city in the "wrong" order. This is the "correct" order
in which you should do the diffrent parts if you want it to be abit easyer.
1 enincula District.
2:Beggars nest.
3:Black Lake
4:The Docks.
If you are a cleric with good turningskills you can go directly to the beggars nest
and run around turning all those weak undead in the start , should give a farely
good yeald of XP for a starters. Then just export your char and restart chapter 1.
If you play through chapter 1 doing as many quests as you possibly can, you
will end up with level 10 easy . And if you use some tricks that dont tell you
about in the book , you can get to chapter 2 at level 14-15. But that
takes a LOOONG time.

why the docks last?
This is the way i would do it:
1. Penninsula
2. Beggar's nest
3. Docks
4. Blacklake
but I usually take the docks first...
Btw: what level are you? it would be much easier to give advices if you gave some basic info.

Order of quests
Dreez is correct with the order. If you ask Aribeth for some advice, that is the order she's gives you the advice.
I beleive all of the random creatures are based on your level. Just recently I ended up being level 6 before going to Beggers Nest. Most of the area was regular zombies, there was several Zombie Warriors, and almost no weak-zombies left. When I go to the nest right out of the academy, almost all the monsters are weak zombies.
I find the 'recommended' order works well. Especially since you are usually level six at some point during begger's nest. This allows you to go and get some nice jewelry from your friends.

I'd definitely do Black Lake last, simply because of the Never Quest. Those swords are a killer.
All random monsters are based on the PC's level. I generally do the Docks second or third, depending on how I feel at the time. I don't think that there are any monsters in the Docks that are particularly tough. Maybe the Dire Spider... But I can't think of any others.
I'd vote with Fiberfar.
Cheers,
TGHO

"Greater Belt of the Swordsman" and presto.... easy. Although it takes some time to kill them still
But to the original poster: If an area is to hard, simply go someplace else and try there first.

Huh? Can you save your character?? But how? Do you still have all of your gold and inventory? Can you also change character and having exactly the same inventory and levels? Because I have a very ugly male human with horns, green hair and a blue skin. I wanted to make him look like a Warcraft III Night Elf. Luckily there are helmets....

@Xandax
Yeah, but you end up sitting there for ever trying to kill them. And your henchie is well and truly dead by that stage! I prefer being 7th or 8th level and chewing through them as much as possible.
@Meldanen14
When you pull up the in-game menu, one of the choices is "Save Character". This saves your current PC in a character file. They are saved with all XP, stats, gear and so on. Then you can just import them into a new module.
Can you also customize your character's gender and body etc? Or can you place an inventory from the one to the other?? As I said in my previous post: I have a very ugly one....
You can't change your character's appearance once it is set at creation. And you can't move inventory between PCs either, unless you have two computers, create a multiplayer game and get both PCs into the game. Then you can swap items.
Cheers
