Party Members Equipment???

Post by Skuld »

Well it's nice to have party members that are rather independent and whatnot for RP reasons, but does Ian go through the whole game with a leather jacket and 10mm pistol, not the most ideal equipment? I know I can use him as a mule and so forth, but is there a way to have him equip better weapons and armour?

You can get him to use whatever "best" weapon for his type is. So for Ian, it's pistols and sub-machine guns. For Tycho it's rifles and shotguns, etc.

You can't change an NPC's armour in Fallout 1. So, yes, Ian is stuck with the Leather Jacket as armour for the whole game. Good luck getting him past the mutants! (It's possible though. It's even possible to get Dogmeat to survive the whole game.)

It's easy to make them survive: just stand in front of them, attract the enemy's attention and eat all the bullits.

Yeah that works. Until Ian goes full-auto with his SMG, gets a crit, and reduces you to a steaming pile of mincemeat. :D I've had it happen!

It's better than the other way around.

What, me reducing Ian to a pile of steaming mincemeat on the ground? Yeah, I've done that too. Occasionally I've left him there too, and not reloaded!

Ian isn't as bad for this as Sulik in FO2. He's the worst.
