1) If you're at the TotSC XP cap (161,000), do you start that high, or at the 89,000 you start at if starting a new game (the BGI, no TotSC cap).
2) If you do start with more XP, what about Imoen, Jaheira, and Minsc? Do they start with a little more, or with the usual 89,000 XP they begin with?
3)I know some items in the first dungeon are changed. Which ones are gone? Which ones make the "import"?

1) Your TotSC experience will transfer to BG2, up to 161k.
2) Do Minsc/Jaheira/Imoen start higher? That's a good question - I'm not sure. Since the level of other NPC's does change depending on your level when you pick them up, it just might.
3) The Golden Pantaloons do transfer, if you kept them - they appear behind the picture in the golem room next to your prison. Keep them if you can, if you get all the various pantaloons there's a big easter egg use for them near the end of TOB. Supposedly you can get some other items to transfer in place of the Sword of Chaos and Helm of Balduran that you get in Irenicus's Dungeon, but that's never happened for me. Still, it's not that big a deal - from what I could tell, none of the items that you're supposed to be able to transfer in place of those two are actually much better. In other words, I'd rather have the Helm/Sword.

The genie in the Pocket Plane of Air gives you the sword that Sarevok was supposedly wielding in BG1. It's "yours" because you supposedly looted it from Sarevok's body and it was taken from you when Irenicus kidnapped you (so the story goes).
By the way, if you have ever looked at CRE files, you know that non-joinable NPCs like Sarevok, Drizzt, Jon Irenicus, etc. are dissimilar from your own characters. For one thing, they don't wield normal weapons; instead, they are given attacks in the form of "rings" or "paws" that inflict equivalent damage. Their attributes (such as AC, attacks per round, THAC0, etc.) are arbitrarily defined rather than being the result of class, level, and equipment. For example, Sarevok wasn't wearing any armor in BG1 but he still had AC -5. And he was holding a +5 two-handed sword, not the Sword of Chaos.

right, I expect the sword of chaos... I'm just confused about DeadAlready's statement that he gives you a "random item" from your BG1 game. If that was the case, I'd definitely bust out the save-reload cheese until I got my speed boots. But I haven't heard that from anyone else, so I assume that's not really true...
