I am looking for the keycard in the basement area.
I know the security guard past the beams has one, but I don't want to kill him as I want to do this level without killing guards for 2 xp.
I saved, then used the console and boosted my perception and wits just so that I could search everywhere for this, but no luck.. I'm guessing that it must be ok to kill this guy as I can't think what else to do. Reading the guide it says that after you get the artifact that your supposed to follow the green stripe until you come to an unlocked door, well if it's the room I have found, it's completely empty so someone please help.

I *think* if you manage to dodge those laser beams, the door will be unlocked.
If you have a safegame handy you could try to use the noclip cheat and fly over the beams, just to check.

I already tried using the computer (just before the beams) to disable both the beams and the alarm but the door was locked, so I figure that the door would still be locked if I left them on and dodged them, but i'lll give this a go anyway...
meanwhile if anyone has actually done this quest without killing the keycard guy , where the heck did you find it?

pontypool, if you're malkavian, you can cast hysteria on the guy and sneak past (or use obfuscate) I didnt know there was a console until much later at the game when i got stuck at leopold, so I always had to turn the lasers off cos dodging them is next to impossible to do.. for me anyway

The problem isn't getting past the guard, but how to get the keycard that he has without killing him and thus failing the quest by killing a guard and missing + 2xp

ahh sorry, malkavian concentration problem lol
the keycard i found in the basement, just run around til you see a piece of wooden board jutting out abit of the wall. move the board aside and you'll find it there with a radio and some janitor stuff. hope that helps

I'm not seeing that piece of wood.. although I am quite sure I found the room the card is 'supposed' to be in.
The walkthrough says after you get the fetish continue along the green stripe until you get to an unlocked room where there is a computer (password ihatemyojb) well I am at that computer because I have accessed the emails using that password and the room doesn't have any sign of this piece of wood, so this must be either a bug for me or I am just not seeing this, if you could show me this place with a screenshot that would be a great help..

ok i got really bad memory, and no save game around that area. my mistake: not the basement, the roof (where you started out), that's where i found the keycard. there's another key in the room with the computer. I had it easy cos of high inspection (big high glow on items). Up that skill if you're using the console. makes looking for things easier. I hope this helps..

I already mentioned that I tried that in an earlier post, I searched this particular room the most but didn't find the card.

Pontypool, please don't bump this thread. If it stays on the first page, it will get read. If it doesn't get answered right away, that's because nobody has the answer--not that they're inattentive. :)

I dunno, I guess you might try saving your game, mercilessly slaughtering everyone in the place and then, when the whole area is nice and empty, checking every room systematicaly from top to bottom untill you find it. I honestly didn't pay any heed to the princes suggestion of stealth the first time around... Mainly because he was kinda rude to me and I wanted him to have to clean up the Masquerade when I was done with the place... Ahem, but thats just my bitterness. I just sorta, wandered around the place, found what I needed and wandered out like a blind man.
I was Diablorised once. I got better.

I never had to kill the guard for the keycard. I've gotten him to drop it using Hysteria, Nightwisp Ravens and Trance. Any discipline that disables the guard should work.

The only guard I interacted with is the one in the first basement security room. I drank some of his blood to stun him for access to the computer there. I am pretty sure the card I got was not on any guard but found somewhere.

There are six places I can think of where it might be. Second floor inside a closed display in the back hallway, first floor security room or adjacent office, Museum offices on first floor, basement first security room, office in back of basement, or lab across hallway from secure door.

I killed everyone and only the security guard after the beams actually had it in his possesion ,I figure it must be in a box or something because otehrwise I would have seen it with my high perception..
I did want to do the level properly but I will just have to settle for killing a guard by the looks of it.

I'm surprised nobody can remember where they got the card.. does anyone know of any forums dedicated to bloodlines that are larger?
