Finished the game
I finished the game!! I can't get over how fast this game went by. I went back and did 3 different endings and i am still in shock!!! $50 bucks for a game that didn't last very long. I am very disappointed. The game was cool but it ended so fast, and it really doesn't matter what ending you pick it's still over way to fast!! I think it was a total rip off!!! I played vampire the redemption years ago and loved that game so i waited forever for this one to come out only to be left shocked by how fast you go through the game. I wonder if i can let them know how i feel. I think i will try to find out. Anyone know? This sucks!!! I'm going back to morrowind that game is awesome!! You can do so much. Can anyone recommend a cool game besides war games i hate them they are all alike!!! I thinkl they just wanted to hurry up and get this game out, just like it was going to be online play!!!! well it wasn't they just wanted to finish fast!! I'm getting sick of this maybe i will go back to ps2!! Anyone else feel the same??

I dissagree.
Maybe you where expecting to much, most of the currect RPG's have this lenght. Morrowind is an exception.
Adn about the multiplayer part, i read an interviuw about it, and they did intend to do a multiplayer part in the game, but after lot's of debating there where 2 options for online play:
1. it would be an online FPS, and they didnt want that.
2. It would become an MMORPG and they didnt want that either,
so they dropped it.

I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

Wow lots of exclamation marks
For me it lasted just long enough. I actually grew a bit tired if it in the end. But if you compare it to blockbusters like the Baldur's Gate series or Morrowind, it was certainly quite short.
All the technical issues indicate that the game was rushed, but always had the impression the gameplay and story were well balanced and developed.
Have you ever played the Gothic Rpg's? I would recommend them. Both, Gothic 1 and Gothic 2 have a very strong story and atmosphere. The fighting system is not everybody's taste ,tough (i love it).

I would also recommend gothic... start with gothic 1, even if it's a bit out of date, because many of the characters in gothic 2 are also in gothic 1... After that play the second part, including the "night of the raven" add-on..
The feeling is great, the story very nice, cool(ish) graphics and plenty of side quests that influence your characters development...
One of the best games I've ever played (multiple times, and I only played BG2 multiple times, besides Gothic). I can't wait for Gothic 3 to be released

See I'm of a different mind as well. I HATED redeption with a bitterness not seen since man first found lemons. "Yay, we made it into the Nosferatue caves, now all we have to do is ERRADICATE THE ENTIER CLAN to proceed, nobody will mind right?" "Wow, a vohzd, the mighty war machine of the Tzimisce, capable of destorying entier cities, only 5 or so in existance... I've killed three of them myself".. Urk *shudder*
And I also found Bloodlines to be a nice size. lots of little side quests that you did or didn't have to do.. And I was just reaching the stage of "I swear, if ONE more vampire asks me to do just ONE more thing before I can get this damm dead dude's box, I'm gonna bust a vessel!"
But then again, morrowind doesn't have anywhere near the graphic payload and interaction that Bloodlines has, so it might be a space and money issue as well... Unless we are playing different morrowinds. It was that, semi top down D&D hack and slash game right?

I have to disagree that bloodlines was too short...it took me quite a long while to finish first time around, but maybe that's just because half (two thirds?) of the game was loading in between zones
I have to agree with pennypincher about morrowind; graphically and narrative wise it just can't compare to bloodlines. Bloodlines has a voice actor read (very professionally, I might add) every single possible line of dialogue in the game, where as morrowind is just text. Don't get me wrong, I loved morrowind, but it just wasn't the same immersive experience that bloodlines was. Also, the fact that you had to carefully plan your method of building your character was nice--it leads to a different experience each time. In morrowind you can easily max all your stats until you become an unstoppable juggernaut.

For one thing, Bloodlines isn't much shorter than Redemption. Also, while I liked redemption, it was pretty much the V:TM iablo, meaning it focused quite a bit on hack and slash, and not much on dialogue and quests. Bloodlines is more along the lines of a true RPG. As for Morrowind, while the game has its highlights, on the whole it's kinda dull and all the walking and legwork is pretty annoying. Bloodlines offeres a more concentrated experience. The game is of decent lenght (some 20 hours), and except for a few bits near the end, the game is quite absorbing. I played and finished Morrowind, but I had to fight not only monsters, but also sleep. Spending 15 minutes trying to find a way around the Ghostwall is not my idea of fun. Not to mention the quests are quite generic, hardly any twists at all. The game tells you that you can do a lot, but most of the time I felt like I did the same thing over and over again (not to mention the game ended with a boss so pathetic I nearly fell off the chair laughing). With Bloodlines I felt like I was always doing something new. A few quests truly seemed generic, but the rest were quite interesting thanks to an involving setting, good dialogues and a great atmosphere.
Basically, Morrowind is too watered down for my taste. I preffer to spend less time playing an intensive game than beating around the bush for weeks. Nut I guess that's just a matter of taste....

With respect, I'd question this. Twenty hours is very short for an RPG, unless you consider the recent crop that's appeared in the last year. BG2 promised and delivered at least three times that. So did NWN, for all that the original standalone game was repetitive and uninspired. Anino gives 50+ hours, and if you did all the quests in KOTOR, I'd expect to spend 40+ hours playing.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

It took me 20 hours during my last run, but I already knew where everything is and can do all the quests in the smallest amount of time. A first time player who does all the quests and checks under every rock will take quite a bit longer....
Oh, and KotOR was in the same lenght category as Bloodlines.

Took me about 60 to 70 hours to complete the first run, but I spent a lot of time talking to everyone for information and reran a few quests. I only peeked at walkthroughs when I had been stuck at a location for some time and could not figure out what to do. I think this was 2 or 3 times.
If you know the path and solutions, 20 to 25 hours is easy to do.

I didn't watch the clock while i was playing (would take the relaxing part out of gaming ), but i think i am among the 30-40 hour crowd.
In comparison to KOTOR i found the riddles much harder to solve. They seemed to be not very logical (especially the one in the sewers). At least they didn't give the the impression they were taken straight out of a riddle book , though (as KOTOR's did).
